Right here. The 28v ones are only available in the 32 degree beam angle but, just glue some aluminum foil to the inside of the caps and it diffuses the light better though.
I forgot to mention I got those exact same lights before my SuperBrightLED ones and after a short time, some of the diodes started flickering off and on at random. Complained to the seller and they sent me new ones. Same thing. Really distracting while driving so keep an eye out... Zero problems...
Not dumb at all! 20% of the paint/catalyst mix (the CARC is a 2 part compound at a 2:1 ratio, paint:catalyst). So if I've got 32oz (1qt) of paint/catalyst, you're diluting with 6.4oz of water for 20% dilution or 8oz water for 25% dilution.
Here's the link to the SW product page with data...
Definitely! Unless something unforeseen happens I'm hoping to be at the fall Haspin rally. We should have a 3rd HMMWV with our group by then as well.
Between the new ECV front end and the paint, it looks like a brand new truck!
Would love to find some of the slat style GMV bed rails...
Absolutely! I was just like you. I hadn't sprayed anything except my doors and top with Behr before this.
The gun was a Neiko HVLP with 2.0 tip with the DeVilbiss DeKups system. The DeKups system isn't mandatory but makes switching colors, running lacquer thinner through the gun when switching...
I wouldn't... You're way overpaying for everything there versus piecing it all together on your own. That's about $30 more than you need to spend.
Those o-rings are pretty inexpensive and the replacement light caps aren't that expensive either.
Also, I located the beverage holders that infidel got me had used at Walmart. Didn't like the "fabric" they use on the outside and plastic fingers inside so I kept looking around and, I think I found the perfect solution for anyone using the headset/mic holders as mounts.
Search eBay for the...
That's a familiar sight... I just painted mine this weekend. Sherwin Williams CARC. Great paint! Definitely recommend it.
Can't take credit for the camo job, that was a friend's skill. I put down the base coat. He had just finished spraying when I took the last couple pics so it's still wet...
Depends on how much 12v you're planning on drawing. The 12v on the dual voltage alternator is only about 50A.
If you're planning on drawing a lot of 12v, look into a Vanner battery equalizer. I have their 70-100M model which is rated to 100A. They aren't cheap but you can find deals on them if...
Our past winter wasn't all that cold but I would usually let my truck idle a minimum of 10 minutes before going anywhere.
Warmer weather, no warm up period.
Got the paint from Home Depot.
Home Depot can color match FSC color codes in their system. Flat Black is just flat black. Brown is Brown 383. There are FSC color codes for each you just give them and their system blends it. I don't have the color codes off hand but I know they're posted here on...
I'd imagine it depends on the type of paint you're going to use. Pretty sure the camo soft top/doors are just green and have been painted.
I painted my camo soft doors which were in poor shape green to refurb them. Also painted a new white soft top (it was only $200) green to match. Both were...
What's that you're using for the actual cup holder? I badly need to add some to my truck and was going to use the headset/mic holder to do that but wasn't sure what to actually mount to it.
Really like the way that looks!
Here you go.
Go get your new, clear light caps and just go get some new BA9Ss from SuperBrightLEDs. Then you'll actually be able to read your gauges at night.
Wow! Forgot all about this thread.
Here's a picture of it from the original sale listing:
I can get some more detailed ones if you need them.
I haven't installed it since I've been working on a ton of other stuff with my HMMWV this is going in.
I did get in touch with BAE in June...
Yep, go get a radiator fin comb and straighten the fins out:
When cleaning the radiator don't use a super high pressure pressure washer to clean it out or you'll start flattening fins and making more work for yourself.
I'd maybe even suggest getting one of those coolant flush kits and...
