    6.5/4l80e swap

It's more or less the same setup in the truck now except with a turbo and an overdrive, so why not? I thought I could do the swap to gain the overdrive transmission and by keeping them together possibly make it work without having to buy a $700 tci unit.

    6.5/4l80e swap

So, I have a complete running 98 gmc 3500 with a 6.5/4l80e combo. I want to swap that combo into my 1028A1. From what I have read I believe if I machine the adaptor between the tranny and TC I can make the 4l80 fit the np205. Where I get lost is with the electronics part of the swap. I will keep...

    My first CUCV M1028A1

How about some guages? Temp, oil pressure and such. Just a thought. I have an M1028A1 that also came from the mississippi National Guard. :) Our most recent project will be overhauling the breaks. Our rear shoes are nonexistent.

    Headlight issue

So from what I have read having the 30a headlight fuse blow is a fairly common issue. I placed an inline fuse in the harness that resets itself, but that is no solution to the issue. Once it gets warmer outside I plan to clean out the fuse block under the dash, install the heavy-duty LMC harness...

    fuel system issues.

My truck does the same thing. When left overnight the fuel drains back and causes starting issues the next morning. The cause of our drain-back is a bad throttle shaft seal on the IP. From what I have heard this is a fairly common place for the IP to leak, and maybe a place you'd want to check...

    IP Rebuild or not?

So, when we bought our truck it had 8k miles on it. Currently it has 26k. We are assuming that it has the original IP. The issue is that it has a steady leak coming from the throttle shaft, causing fuel drain back and terrible starting after sitting. To fix this issue, would it be easier to just...

    Fuel Draining back

So, we have installed an electric fuel pump, and installed a screw on napa fuel filter. With those two mods, a new starter and glow plugs the truck was starting like a champ! But, recently the fuel seems to be draining back into the tank somehow. The truck will fire right up, die, then puff...

    Off Roading?

Anything man, really haha. I generally inspect an obstacle before I attempt it, and there have been numerous times where I have stood staring at the obstacle, saying to myself, there is nooooo way i'm going to make it over that climb or through that hole... ha but somehow, the cucv proves me...

    No heat

Is your heater core an original copper one? When we first bought our truck it had an aluminum heater core, and like you said, only produced luke warm air. The hoses were hot, and all of the systems were working as they should. The only thing we figured it could be was the heater core itself, so...

    Spicer u-joint's

so we're trying to install the twopercision 235's that fit in the cardon joint.. but they just dont seem to fit! the cups are the right size, and the ring has the proper copper snap ring.. but when you press the caps in, the u-joint is too wide, so theres jsut no way for me to get the second...

    Spicer u-joint's

Well, time to replace both 1480 wheel joints and the three 1310 joint's on the front drive shaft. i have researched u-joints and the best one's seem to be Greasable Spicer Life Series u-joints. So i drove over to napa, come to find out that they no longer supply them; just plain BS. Son i...

33x10.5 R15 tires on stock CUCV

i deff prefer the 255's over the 235's. This was our first time buying the 255 km2's for our 1028 and they are an amazing tire.. i totally recomend them for people looking for new tires.
