I dont see any issues with the frame flex. Your issue is going to be how much your new bed mounting design allows the bed to move. In stock configuration, the bed and tank will not contact. With no bed on the truck the axle spread is your limiting factor. You will just have to lift the bed...

be careful when you heat it up to melt out the nylon, if it is still hot it is possible to bend the ears. I would wait till it is fully cooled before pressing out the old joint. If the ears get bent together, it will make it very hard to get the clips back on the new joint.

When mine is all said and done it will sit at 3 degrees, 10 degrees now, flip the shims will put me where i need to be. Keep in mind this axle is installed backwards, so the shims and everything else is opposite. This weekends project is to swap the knuckles to get the tierod behind the axle...

Mine is sitting about -10 degrees. Since my front axle is in backwards, that puts my shims with the thick towards the BACK. I have to go the opposite way. So I guess I need to use my own process this weekend and swap things around. Any issues with re-drilling the shims? See edit above

My process. Chock wheels Remove U-bolts on one side Place floor jack with 4x4 block underneath the leaf spring just in front of the axle. Lift spring up from axle till wedge can be removed Place stand under leaf spring behind the axle to support the load Lower jack to put pressure on stand Now...

If you get braided steel, make sure they are plenty long. Rubber lines will stretch, braided lines snap.

No i didnt, but they havent moved either. The prices have went up on them. He wants what he gets paid for scrap. About $200 a ton. and the deal is you have to take the blue truck, the yellow truck, and another set of axles to be able to get the deal. Hopefully this summer I can make...

I see what you mean on the front of the springs. But I dont have any advise, Ill leave it to those who know more...

There is retaining bolts that you have to take out, then the pin will tap out.
