nope i did it. just put a voltmeter on it and make sure it is putting out CORRECT voltage. get a grounding harness too. mine was putting out a healthy 38 volts (which is bad)

Now that it is cold outside, when i turn switch on the wait light comes on for a split second and shuts off. No power to glow plugs. I read a lot of posts so I am thinking need to ground box, possible new smart start box. (have new GPC unit and glow plugs)

OK just got new m1038 truck from IP. Would not start (no wait light) (IP) they used either to crank. (I found out my and alternator was proving my vehicle with 38 volts) so new alternator lol I replaced smart box with another smart box and a new GPC unit. Bought and replaced 8 new glow...

I got lucky with mine from Yermo...lol your right most of them are junk. however the best deals seem to come out of that place.
