Time for security cameras, or a junkyard dog. Scrap prices are up again and the theives are working overtime everywhere. Sorry to hear about your loss. Check your local steel buying facility, in Ca. they have to provide a drivers license when they sell scrap. Even for steel.
Have someone get out the garden hose and spray it down from the outside, you get inside and follow it upstream. It could be leaking from anywhere. dashboard to windshield, firewall, vent windows are a suspect. Door seals? Good Luck.:-D P.S. mine only leaks when it rains.
If the core is good them I would repair it myself. I wouldn't pay a radiator shop to try to fab the new bottom mount. Maybe a sheel metal fab shop could make the lower mount that is corroded. I repaired one in a 66 deuce that had the bolts corroded off just like yours. wasn't real pretty, but...
A word of advice, don't hold your breath waiting on GL. sometimes it is a little slow. But be patient, it will happen. Just make sure you fill out your paperwork on time because they won't wait. If you have to submit an euc, the first time it takes a while to get cleared. Good luck.
Fill the tires with helium.:-? Just kidding. I would swap it out with a m101 which weighs about 1200 pounds less. you will have a little less cargo space, but just pile it higher. Also the newer ones have surge brakes on them, no need for an electric brake controller.
I bought a cheap 1" impact from harbor freight tools for $89. It works fine.(with 1/2 inch air hose.) would not use it 8 hours a day, but for as often as I use it, it serves the purpose. I use a 2 cylinder compressor with a 60 gallon tank. The double socket was about 35 bucks. Also when I get a...
It could always be worse. It could be me that was stuck. Just kidding. At least it was only $250 to pull you out. In Calif. big rig wreckers are about $400. just to come out. And don't ask me how I know that.
New air filter. van rolls easily, and I do not drive it hard. I even put taller tires on the rear to decrease engine rpm at highway speed. Maybe a pump/timing issue? I just don't know much about the chevy diesels. And I don't have a code reader, but no check engine light appears.
I have a 1996 chevy g30 van (ex air force crew van) with a 6.5 diesel. has 90,000 miles on it. It only gets about 11 mpg and is very sluggish when accelerating. It runs smooth and quiet. Any suggestions:?:
The stock deuce wheels were designed for a 9 inch wide tire. You can make a 16 fit and inflate it, but it doesn't make it right. The tire beads are designed to sit on the rim a certain way, and I would hate for the split ring to come off at an extremely bad time.:(
Sent in for euc on 3 jan. 2011. received euc on 12 jan. 2011. picked up m1008 at Travis AFB in Ca. on 13 jan. NO BENT DRIVELINE. NO DENTS. TRUCK STARTED.:driver:And believe it or not, the truck has air conditionong! I tell you, it's a miracle. They don't use a forklift to move everything at...
First thing, Welcome Home! My uncle was a FAC in 67-68. If enough people complained about the theft at gl, they would probably do something about it just to shut us up! At Sharpe army depot in Ca. you can't even go to look at anything without an escort. And if the drmo people see any one out...
On some old tractors you retard the mag and it won't kick back.(as much). On the deuce I guess you could drill a hole in the radiator and put a crank on the end of the crank, but you won't see me trying it! ;-) big gob of bondo should also plug the hole. rotsa ruck. Park it on a hill.
