It was a cold and snow was falling, when we loaded up and headed to the Boy Scout 2015 Boot Comporee. BUT it was well worth it.
We carried a 37mm, 57mm and 3” anti-tank guns, a 45 Willis Jeep, and a Dodge 43 WC63 down. There was apx 200 Boy Scouts there. After we got set up, around 10 I started...
OK one, more time. 1943 WC63 Dodge actually used in WW2 as it can back from Norway in the early 90s. With a 57mm anti-tank cannon, that came off a firing range. Still has bullet holes in the trails, and one in the recoil cylinder cap.
OK, since we lost 1 WW2 vehicle to vote for, vote for mine. It's a WW2 vehicle, AND was used by Norway post WW2.
So it like me it's, old and has been rode hard, and put up wet...... :)
Here's a few shots at the Halls, TN Air Show, done at a old B17 training base every year....
We try to do 1 event a month. This month we are going to set up at a Boy Scout Camporee. There will be over 200 young people to show this to. Hopefully to get them started in the...
Well, I know nobody likes the old WW2 Dodges (cause I posted it before) but I'll use it to help you get the count up......
1943 Dodge WC63 with 57mm Anti-tank cannon......
No website. Everything is inside at the Ag center. But let me know as soon as you can and I'll make sure they leave room for yours. All displays are free, but if you want sell tables, contact the number on the flyer to purchase tables.
If you bring a vehicle, they'll also give you a free BBQ...
All age periods are invited to bring you vehicle. If you do there is no cost involved. I plan on having the 37mm, 57mm, and the 3” there. If you haven’t seen them, come on by.
If you just want to sell some stuff please call them for tables. He is trying to make this into a Military Show...
There is a Civil War / Military show in Memphis next weekend, I'll have it there, if you want to come by and take all the measurements you want. I'll have my WC63, and 57mm, a buddy's jeep, and 37mm, and several more vehicles.
I have a early WC63 with no cushions, well I actually have 2 set of cushions, but only put them on when used. They are the high side bucket ones.
Is this what you need?
These are not DOD owned. I had TAPCOM do a search, and they show they never donated, loaned, or gave City of Memphis anything. Even "The Memphis Belle" was purchased as scrape by the city of Memphis. This was checked out when the city 1st pulled them from Confederate Park, and I was going to use...
He is restoring 37mm a 57mm and a 3", and making repo breechs for the Shelby County Historical Comm, for just the old welded up live breeches alone.
He's a good guy, but it is a business and he has to make money. He is doing the tires by the hour, but the grand was for both tires, new tires...
Well, it is a restorer. They had to do this to a 37mm tire and it took 2 guys over a day to cut the tire off of the 37mm rim. He says the 3" tire and rim weighs over 200 lbs, so he is figuring 2 to 3 guys to handle it and 2 days labor. Adds up quick.
I have a M5 3" anti tank gun being restored. I want to put new tires on it but the tires are foam filled, and the tires will have to be cut off. This will be VERY expensive to do. Like a grand. So I thought I'd just replace the rims, but not sure what they used.
Here is a shot of the rim. Is...
