On another forum I follow, there was talk of back up power for a house and quite a few members said to be wary of modified sine wave generators...that for ensuring trouble free use of automation equipment, you should make sure you have a pure sign wave generator.
i think some may have been...
I had to replace the circuit breaker on my MEP-531, a specialty shunt trip breaker, just ordered from the manufacturer. I little pricey, but readily available. Engine is yanmar... Or however it's spelled, hard to spellcheck from phone.
Dc only. I have a 531, which is the 120 volt, 2 kw, 60 hz brother. I think I got it for less than 500 before fees, but I think I got it for less than I should have. Nice little generators.
I did get it running. One of the terminal strips uses 6-32 brass machine screws and because of time or vibration or corrosion or by mouse saliva, some of the heads popped off...I found one early on and yesterday while tracing the generator head wiring, I found two more...one of them being a...
Here is a question, in the simplest sense, can you mate something like a sx 460 voltage regulator to a bare generator head and have it work? I have to do a little more reading, but if the generator head has rotating diodes built into the head, you should basically only need the aftermarket AVR...

Still a mess fro the pickup...checked a few things over and oil seems to have been recently changed...added two batteries and it started right up...but voltage output is about 39 volts, should be 120 at the panel.
Muffler is shot, and some of the gauges don't seem to be working.
The...
I just picked up the above mentioned generator and am looking for information. I found a manual for the Wisconsin V-4 engine, but I would love to get the manual for the generator itself. I have done a bit of searching already, but have come up empty handed. What I can tell so far is that it is a...
I don't have a 004, but if you are set up for 120/208 3 phase and you crank the voltage knob up to get 240 phase to phase, you might get 135-140 out of the convenience receptacle.
Does this make sense to the more knowledgeable folks?
The frequency meter on my (smaller) set was not working, I found that at some time in the past it had vibrated itself to pieces. The case says "Sealed- do not open" but it does open easily. I put the meter back together (which required a little creative soldering) and now it seems to work pretty...
I have a disconnect on my batteries for my 002a. The disconnect is on the battery post connector and looks like a (green) twist knob. I open up the disconnect when I'm not using the generator, and it works fine for starting and such...no problem passing adequate current.
I did an install where site power was about 720 feet away from some out buildings. I looked at copper prices and passed out...when I came to, I looked at 2-2-4 Aluminum USE cable...much cheaper and lighter. I have it fused at 60 amps. At the time, I think I did the voltage drop calculations and...
I also picked one up, works nicely. The unit appeared unused with the new manual inclosed inside.
The difference is spelled out on page 27 of the above linked pdf.
The basic difference is the plugs on the cord, and the Army version has a starter for the fan motor which incorporates a big...
I talked to the store owner this morning, sounds like he has had a lot of calls. He said the batteries all went, with someone from out east (I won't say which state) taking most of them.
I'd had hoped they could get spread out, but I guess someone needs backups to backups.

If he comes...
