OK How about this Idea, 1 drain oil from axles, 2 remove shafts, 3 cut shafts at the rear of the backing plate, 4 reinstall, 5 remove drive shaft. Makes all tires spin free, no need for oil nothing spinning in axles, No more axle leaks, 200+ pounds removed.:-D

Right on OPCOM. I would never call my truck reliable, my bus has 398,000 miles on it and its never had a valve cover off. We just enjoy the truck, Fixing it is part of the challenge of ownership. It's a never ending cycle of fun and fixing. Once you get use to it you will have a blast.

Very typical with this truck. I've had 4 leaks already. Easy fix. Get a couple of gasket kits for future leaks. Also get a front axle kit too. Pick up a set of shoes and brake cylinder just in case you find that you need them when you pull the brake drum off its nice to have all the parts Handy...

Ebay has them 10 bucks.

I have to agree with DH and DW this is not a everyday driver. It's a great toy. Get a nice gas sipper and enjoy your truck on weekends. I drive 65 miles 1 way to work and I have to be there at 5 am. the drive would take 2 hours one way, Arggggga
