The 3 master cylinder option is cool, but would again require an additional air pack and an additional air tank to truely isolate the system. The goal is to have at least one axle with brakes given a failure in the system. The only common point of connection is the brake pedal and the air...
Hey guys,
Finally, there is a sweet M36 longbed for my truck on line. But its in South Elgin, Illinois. I'm in Farmington, New Mexico  -
How does one get a 17' bed the 1300 miles here? Any help out there? What should I pay to ship? Can anyone hook me up?
Bob
There is a place selling the entire bushing with the seal in it for $8.50 + ship. I bought one, worked perfect
1 M35 2-1/2 TON BRAKE PUSH ROD BUSHING 8345004 NOS
Item number:250364902750
How about a hydroboost for the brakes running from a complete aux. hydraulic system running off the PTO with quick connect ports on the bed side and back to run ancilliary equipment like the equipment underground; a hydraulic lift jack, or drill or chain saw! The chain saw is too cool... no...
You could, would be a very interesting idea. I don't think you'd even need the vac pump on a gasser, not sure how much vac she'll pull. It would need to be matched. Or you could do a hydroboost from med/heavy duty truck, install an appropriate PS pump and combine it with a hydraulic power...
Absolutely - I agree Tom. As I think about it, the MC really contributes little as you say but acts as a reservior and a hydraulic actuator; the air piston does all the work.
But that still brings the question; in the dual system, the airpacks are the same as on the single, yes? If they...
Been studying the TM (SMARPI) and some of the posts... I don't think it will be all that hard once the MC issue is licked... I had missed the one from the thread you included though (thanks)...
This and the F800 hydroboost unit were the one I was looking at at Raybestos. The F800 unit is 1...
I thought about this too as there is the sufficient frame rail space for two on the M36. Would there be any handling issues/load differentials with all the fuel on one side or would you want to balance the tanks, one on each.
And were do you take out the loan for the fill up?
I have considered this carefully. There is a reason todays vehicles have dual systems. I have personally experienced failure of one side of such a system (a hose that showed no visible signs prior to failure) and was happy to have the split system. My '59 Anglia has a single system, and I...
Already got one coming (airpack) Here's some pics of possible candidates for MC's, both of which sell for around $100 instead of the $250 for the military unit. Anyone got specs (bore & stroke) for the stock unit, either single or dual ciruit?
Ok, I've read the threads and absolutely agree with the comments made about the need for a dual setup on brakes. I can't imagine what it must be like to drive a deuce and suddenlly be unable to stop! Given that the air-hydraulic booster from my truck is stamped '57, this is old stuff we're...
Balance of the drivetrain, all gears, synchros, etc is fine. Only the geared collar driving th 2/3 synchro , which is normally keyed to the mainshaft is damaged, spun. It is either from a severe shock load or poor quality woodruff keys. My rig was used at a mine where it was fitted with a...
