so the torque converter is infact bolted to the engine? And it needs to be unbolted then slid back? Okay...I thought it was on the transmission side and slid with that
Started pulling out my trans on my 86 CUCV stock turbo 400. I broke the trans free from the engine and started sliding it back...the torque converter wont move away from the engine and I can see the gap inbetween the bellhousing and TC getting larger, so the transmission is actually sliding away...
what do they use to shim these things? Once I got the bolts loose to take it out, I was able to pull the whole starter closer to the flex plate...should I do that too?
My starter has been grinding every now and then, so I used to use a breaker bar to move the crank over enough to hit some "fresh" teeth and get it running. Naturally it got worse and worse to the point there the engine would only turn over about 1/4 crank before I had to rotate it again. I...
Does anybody know where to get a screen for these things? Like a little cage to go around the light bar to protect it from tree branches and overhead obstacles? I'm looking to get a code3 mx7000 mounted to the roof with alley lights on the side and a-pillar spotlights all painted to match
Mine did the same after sitting for awhile. I had to turn my left and right signals on really fast a few times to get the "click" back. If I didn't do that it would just move without clicking or turning off the beams. A lot of playing with it and and some crc-336 freed it up like brand new
I need to replace my flex plate soon. Soon, soon. From what I understand the flex plate is on the torque converter. When I un-mate the trans from the engine, does the torque converter stay on the engine side? Does it slide back with the trans? Is it bolted on anywhere or does it just hangout...
so this thing cant be pull started? And I have rotated the crank, many many times. Seems like there's barely any teeth at all left on it, so no matter where I position it, it barely gets a good bite. I have a feeling the flexplate came loose and was wobbeling around getting its teeth chewed off...
My trucks on the fritz thanks to my flexplate missing a few teeth. I've been cheating and just rotating the crank to get it started but now it sounds like it has about 9 teeth left totally. I was planning on pulling the trans out today and riding my bicycle to work, but then it looked like rain...
I took her out today to pull out a stump at my house, sounds a lot better straight piped then I first realized, actually sounded really good. I pulled the 2-1/4 or whatever u put on off and threw it in the scrap pile, I think I might just go with 3" like somebody mentioned....I don't want it...
I was going to run 2" all the way out, but I was contemplating going with 3"....I already have my 2" plumbed from the stock pipes into the bed, and since my bender only handles up to 2" I was going to do the final "Stack" part 3" since that's just straight. But I don't think 2 38inch pieces of...
