Well I put my springs back together today, press was a no go too small for the springs to fit so after a little head scratching here's what I did. assembled the springs with the center bolt aligning them, I took two wood pipe clamps and placed them on each side of the center bolt and cranked...
Looks really good , Keep posting the progress. I really like the template you used for painting the rims without getting paint on the tires!![thumbzup]
I did mine on the back of the truck, I didnt want the center bolt to break so I heated it with a torch ( Wrong Answer ) the nut shot off striping the bolts so Im replacing them. I have a small harbor freight press I will be using to press them back together, but I suppose you could use c clamps
I am using majic gloss black from tractor supply, I don’t believe it matters what you paint springs with it all will eventually ware off. By taking them apart it will take longer for the rust between the leafs to show up.
So sick of rain!!! , Well I finally got some more done, frame painted, springs and all there brackets painted, rear frame air tanks and all there brackets painted now I can finally start putting some of it back together!!! I have the bumperetts , rear shackels, tail light brackets cleaned and...

Well I got a little more done, bed cut and welded back together. Rear springs taken apart ,cleaned and primed. Now that the weather is better maybe I can get more done . Heres a few more pictures.
I just did this last month, torch off the top of the rivets, torch off the bottom of the rivets , then take the torch and blow a hole strait through the remaining rivet. Hit it with a punch and hammer and it will fall right out nice and easy!:naner:
That is actually the one I saw that made me want to get one, I love that paint job, thought your idea of using the computer to project the camo pattern on the truck was good too. By the way what paint did you use,and how well has it stood up!
Well after almost 2 years I finally have enough parts to start. so far its pretty easy removed bed, torched of all the rivets and used the tractor to pull axles out. I removed everything from the rear frame so I can blast it then paint. Planning on an artic camo paint job,(thats what convinced...
Welcome from the upper part of the state, Now that you have one you'll find them all around you, I did. This is a Great site with a lot of helpful people just ask
Well I know it needs 5th drive and driven gears, synchronizer didnt look the best, 2-3 shift fork looked worn a good bit and thats with out a teardown. I havent priced parts yet but your od kit sure looks good, that would get me most of the parts. just not sure which way to go yet.
Was driving the truck the other day and it started to sound like a box of rocks in 5th gear on deceleration, every other gear was fine. Pulled the top of the transmission today and at least 5 teeth gone on cluster. I buttoned it back up , now I guess I am looking for a replacement transmission...
Ok I think I fixed my problem, somtimes its the simpliest things, reset my router ( I'm A Dummy ) and site seams fine now, anyway and thanks for the help!

This is a little long winded but should let you find the problem in about 10 minuets:D
(1) With the air tanks fully charged and the master switch on, disconnect the wire where it comes out of the steering box, take the end that goes along the frame and ground it out on the frame if the horn...
Being somewhat on the large size ( OK extra large ) and having a heck of a time climbing into the bed of the deuce, I decided to build a set of folding tailgate steps. 3/16 steel strap and a welder
They work great for me!:jumpin:
After seeing all the trucks with snorkels at Aberdeen this year I had to have one, so after I got all the stuff together I built one, I think it looks ok. Now to get a bullet muffler!
