I just got my front axle tore all apart to change my boots and seals. On the bottom sides of the axle were the u joint would be there is two holes that are pluged with flush mounting bolts. They are put in with alen head plugs. What are the holes for? K thought about putting a grease fitting in...

it took me 8 hrs to break down completely and clean everything on the front axle. now i need to re assemble. that inclided a hour lunch break!

A lot of PB blaster get a water and come back and beat up on the back part of the arm with a BFH. I used two chisel to spin them and work them out. Just keep at it. :beer::beer:

the shock method rocks. but better have a BFH to make it work.

i just got my one piece silicone boot from Erik truck supply out of California. They said the boot was made in less than a year and they have a one year warranty on their boots. i have done the shock method along with a jack pushing the tie rod out and it just POPS out when shocked.

ok i will suck it up and pull the 4 hose clamps off and put it back in. i just like breaking the rules! LOL

ok i understand but in the manual it say to pull out the thermostat for the cleaning process. so wouldn't there be damage being done then? with it out i can get hot water to come out in like 2 minuets of running.
