I just went though my brake system and replace all lines, steel and rubber.
The main lines i.e from the master cylinder to the airpack out to the splitter behind the spare tire then out to the rubber lines to the axles. All 5/16, the lines across the axles 1/4.

you said you could hear it ,, i know its hard to describe a sound but is it a kind of high pitch rattling sound? i looked a m1009 the other day and it ran good but at idle it had that rattle sounded sorta like the exhaust but everthing was tight.
I got mine from a friend who had a o-ring kit ( a big red box full of a variety of o-rings) he got from the local parts store .. I think mine went bad shortly after using biodiesel...
Listen to this man I had exactly the same problem and it was the o'ring on the shaft .. its about a 3/8 or so o-ring i had almost 5 gallon of fuel in my oil.. my fdc is not bypassed .. do yourself a favor and MOVE YOUR HEATER befor you start .. its a 20 min fix.. good luck.
