I have considerd doing something similar but I was was going to mount to outside of the bed kind of like a fishing rod holder works so when I am not using it I can remove it and as a added bonus it won't take up space in the bed

I was told by the DNR here in MN when duck hunting in my 6X6 argo (amphibious atv) I would be fine as long as the engine is off and I am parked in foliage. Can't see how different it is from a motor boat

I went with a 24 to 12 volt power converter and 24 volt relays when the signal or running lights turn on it activates the relay allowing the 12 volt from the converter to flow through and power my trailer lights, and the power converter gives me power for the cb, am/fm radio with satelite radio...

That is pretty much what a rolloff truck is there are ones with cables and rails and there is the the one with the hook. I used to drive them and the hydraulics can be a bit complex of a setup. Might be able to find a old rolloff truck for sale to get parts from
