Value is dependant upon demand. When I got mine from GL, I paid $200-250 each. If they are tested and good running, value would definitely be more.

To do it simply, if you want to run your generator in 120 single phase only mode and you are not sure if the jumper was installed or not, when you run it in 120 only mode just put a jumper from L1 to L0 at the connection lugs. Just be sure to remove it when you change modes to something else.

The "double fault" jumper you are refering to is not the issue. That jumper has been placed in each of my generators and in every reconnection switch I have and have sold...no issues. As Ike mentioned, the problem more than likely lies in the switch itself. It is not in the generator windings...
