Are you sure you should be messing around with a generator???????? The frequency meter uses the 110 volt power generated by the set to operate...no power...no frequency meter.

Uuuummmm, yeah Those wires have EVERYTHING to do with not generating electicity. If you don't excite the field, you don't get power.

If it really is J12 that you are talking about, those are the field excitation wires. Since you are exciting the field with a DC voltage it should not matter which wire goes where. But if you can find some markings on them closer to the generator head the wire P67B16 goes on pin "a" and P60G16...

Yes, there is a capacitor located at the voltage regulator, and yes it probably is going bad. Quite a common thing for a lot of people, and covered a few times.. Unless your machine quit charging, leave the batteries hooked up and forget about it

I agree, you are set at 120/240, Even if you wanted to adjust the voltage down, 240 volts if where it should be. I know a lot of people like to say 110/220, but the proper and actual voltage you want to see is 120/240.
