Went ahead and put a new lift pump just to eliminate it from the equation. Haven’t been able to start it since. Primer is pushing fuel I can hear squeaking at injector pump. Tried clamping return line but still no start. Going to get a can of diesel now to put next to the lift pump and bypass...
I only have one fuel filter and it’s up in the engine. It’s a Napa 3472 filter. Other than that I only have about a foot of rubber hose from the lift pump into a hard line that runs all the way back to the tank and about a foot and a half of rubber hose from the injection pump into a hard line...
So let me try and give some more info on this issue.
The truck sat for a very long time and the lift pump gummed all up. I changed the lift pump and the truck started. The fuel was old and bad and the truck ran terrible. You give it the gas and it would barely go. All of a sudden it started...
It drives but is erratic. Honestly doesn’t have the power it used to. As long as its in a low gear and winding up its fine but doesn’t have any power once it shifts. It’s been sitting so I changed the lift pump and pulled the tank and cleaned it out. Not really any difference. Going to get a...
It looks like my truck is dropping about 400 rpm when I put it in gear at idle and kills. I idled it up to around 900 and it drops all the way to 500 when I put it in gear. Never used to do this. Does anyone know what I should check?
I have a 923a2 and am having some issues with fuel pressure bleeding off. The truck used to pop right off every time no matter how long it sat. However now it seems like if I let it sit for a few minutes, it has to turn over for about 30 seconds in order to start up. If I shut it down and...
I would really like to get under my M923a2 and 1 by 1 change out every air line on the truck. After looking under the truck I can see that the majority of the lines under there are plastic. My question is if this is just standard air lines like on any big rig or did they use some special stuff...
I just wanted to give an update on the whole fan problem. Turns out there is no problem at all and Im just paranoid. After the temp finally got to 190 the fan came on and ran just fine. This is good with me because I have enough stuff to work on. Thanks for the help everyone.
Well I finally got to work on my beast so I changed one of the air lines that had a leak, I figured out the wiring problem with the transfer case solenoid and pulled a pile of wires out from under my truck that went nowhere. Now we can shift from high to low and it doesn't look like a birds nest...
All of my wheels lose air so I was going to go this route and cast some of these bands. However, it would be a bit easier if I knew the dimensions before I started the mold. Outer / inner diameter and thickness should be sufficient. Thanks for the idea and write up
Man yall are awesome. I will work on all of this over the weekend and let you guys know what I come up with. So far though I can tell you that no air comes out of the clutch at all and as for the coolant drip, I don't know if it drips while it is turned off as I didn't pay attention to that. I...
Ok so this makes me feel a little better. Thanks for the info guys. I am trying to go though the tech manual but man it's a huge book of stuff I have to learn. It scared me when I didn't see it turning and even more when I saw the Coolant dripping. I will do some reading and try to learn what...
Ok guys. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this truck but I just took possession of it and don't know a ton about it. Anyways is the fan on the engine supposed to spin all the time? Today my temp gauge was showing about 190, there was coolant dripping from the overflow hose on the tank and...
Man I have the same problem on my truck with the same tires. It feels like there are huge flat spots but they never round out. I hope someone here has some experience with this problem cause I could sure use the help with mine too.
How come I cant find one for this vehicle listed? Is it close enough to one of the others that is listed in the stickys? Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is my first military truck. Thanks guys.
