" I'm an offroader. I change my gear oil at least 4-5 times a year ."
Very good point...you change the RTV every 3 months.....the RTV never has to hold a seal for very long.
I dont plan on changing oil maybe every 3 years. BTW the last RTV job i did correct did last about 3...
you would think...
Ya you would think, with all the trucks of that type on the road still it would be easy to find the gasket.
Chevy dealer said they could get one Tuesday..
So I bought a roll of gasket material.... Now I can make 6 + gaskets for the price of $17.
Everybody says RTV it...
Autozone and Advance and Napa no gasket!
I have a M-1009. Ultra black Sealant left me leaking. As a poor mechanic I need a Gasket...
Napa sent me home with wrong one....It was only one listed for vehicle....

Measurements of front and rear seem to be even....the same height. So I guess know I know rear is not lower than front, but still tired after 25 years. I'll have to wait and see what happens when I load it up with hunting gear, jugs of water, deer....ect.

Upon futher reveiw...
I was looking at my rear springs again, They aren't flat, have an arc, and aren't down to last spring, so that's good. But, I measured from the edge of the fender down to wheel center (hub). The rear is 3-4 inches lower than front? Maybe I'm not measuring from the...
Thanks
I didn't know that about the front, that's good news, i don't need front ones.
I think i do need help in the back. If you look at my profile photo, looks like rear is squatting...
Will air suspension kit help rear return to correct height?
Air bag cost?
All my spring, front and back, are basically straight. No arc anymore.
Would and air bag system regain lost clearance? And what would I expect to pay for system?
I think I saw spring running $400 for one axle....

Window screen doesn't work
I tried the window screen...
The problem is the window screening doesn't lie flat. Areas raise up, allowing paint to cover surface. If you could get the screening to stay in contact with glass it might work.
More research is needed. Something like saran wrap...
$350 for 2 windows?
EEK I can't do that, although it would look cool.
About the painting glass using screen material.... I thought if a person painted the inside of the glass the paint would hold up better. I know on the back window the inner seal for the window doesn't squeegee the window...
Tenebraex
Very neat idea. $$$$ would be a limiting factor.
I have the same type system on my Remington 700 scope. Very simple, very affective!
The "Bus Wrap" idea is growing on me every day.....
