    Air brake question

I hope this isn't considered "high jacking" on Steel Soldiers as its in the same general topic. I've got an air brake issue as well, but a little different. When I apply the brakes, they all engage. However, air releases out of the bleeder valve on the trailer protect valve. I did have to...

    M1078 Alternator Problem

Wait. If I jumped from the alternator to the "E" connection and everything came to life, including the regulator lights, wouldn't this suggest a problem between the alternator and regulator rather than the regulator itself. By repairing the "E" circuit, are they saying there is an issue in the...

    M1078 Alternator Problem

Alternator is charging. Regulator failed at the "E" connection. The trouble shooting guide says to repair "E" circuit. I assume that means replace the regulator since everything else on the circuit is after it and there is no juice at the regulator. I anticipated this and new one should be...

    M1078 Alternator Problem

I'll verify the AMPS and let you know.

    M1078 Alternator Problem

Hmm. I wonder what the difference is? You got a part # I can research? How much are you looking to get for one?

    M1078 Alternator Problem

I went to play with my M1078 today and noticed I was getting a low voltage reading on the gauge. All the battery connections, alternator connections, regulator connections, and battery volts are good. I haven't done all the trouble shooting in the Niehoff guide, but did check the regulator...

LTV/M-1078 Power Distribution Panel - Parts sources

Funs stuff! I have been through the exact same process. There are several ways, but cost and time considerations will be the guiding force. Keep in mind that many of the parts for these trucks are commercially available. The parts are also starting to show up more and more on eBay and with...

    LMTV

BTW, my point about things that "are not true" was not in reference to vehicle availability.

    LMTV

Oops. Didn't notice or I would not have bothered. I usually do check that. My apologies. It was the first thread that came up when I searched LMTV. A little strange.

    LMTV Air Conditioner

Just found this: A/C COMPRESSOR FOR CHEVROLET KODIAK OR GMC TOPKICK WITH 3116 CAT ENGINE: GM NUMBER IS 15956082, DELCO 15-20112, SANDEN 4618 OR U4618 Don't know how that combines with the other parts, but it will work with the engine.

    LMTV

Ugh. Why does everybody get so uptight about the FMTV program. I mean, everybody has their favorites and they all have +'s & -'s, but I read stuff on threads like this that isn't even true; not to mention how far off topic every one gets. Geez guys, take a pill. So, Timberwolf I don't know...

    M1078 No Start...Not even trying.

So, after all the back and forth, I ordered a new WTEC II VIM at a GREAT price and took a chance on a WTEC II ECU that came in unknown working condition. It too was a great deal and I figured if it didn't work I could get it rebuilt for $200. I was cautiously optimistic when it arrived last...

    LMTV Air Conditioner

I too have one of the cab units and will be looking for parts AC to get it going. I haven't spent a lot of time on this yet, but with a little research and cross-referencing the interior console part number I found the following: Compressor: NSN-4310015274921 BAE Part #TV040084 Red Dot Part...

Just posted this on my transmission help thread, but copied it here for anyone following that might also be interested. "OK...I'm going to have to write a nice detailed "overview" of the MTV transmission saga at some point. As frustrating as it has been, it has definitely given me some...

    Transmission Help FAST!!!

OK...I'm going to have to write a nice detailed "overview" of the MTV transmission saga at some point. As frustrating as it has been, it has definitely given me some valuable knowledge that will help me and potentially others going forward. For now, just know that the transmission data plate...

    Transmission Help FAST!!!

OK, so getting ripped off might have been a little strong, but don't let anybody tell you the MTV's take a "Special transmission ECU". Allison confirmed to me today that it's not about the ECU, but the programming. Of course there are different ECUs out there, but the one for my LMTV is not...

    M1078 No Start...Not even trying.

OK...Wires are repaired and I'm back to were I started before the "barbecue." I had already replaced all the fuses, relays, and diodes/CPUs (they were missing), but double check voltage on the recommendation of DSD227I. Everything was good. I went to a local Allison dealer today on the...

    Transmission Help FAST!!!

I need a BIG favor FAST:!:. I need someone with an M1078 running a WTEC III to get me the part number off their Transmission ECU ASAP. Actually, I need as much info off it as possible. Maybe just take a picture of the data sticker for me. Long story short, I think I might be getting...

    M1078 No Start...Not even trying.

Thanks for keeping me sane on the oil level sensor. My wife's car recently developed an oil leak and practically drug her out of the car a whipped her when the level got low. So, it was on my mind. I haven't had time to work on the truck this week. So, everything stands as it was. Hopefully...

    M1078 No Start...Not even trying.

...Haven't got it started yet. I have to repair the wires I fried. I did have another thought...would the oil level sensor keep the starter from engaging and how sensitive is it? The truck does have oil, but is a little low.
