    Mystery tube/mystery noise

That tube is the Crankcase Breathing Tube if you follow it all the way to the top you see it fits into your block. Mine is about 20-22inches long and extends below the axle... Why it made a noise for 15 minutes I do not know why.

Ether is great... It might blow up your engine but it always does something. I was looking at a Walter Truck once that was left out in the cold all the time it had a NHC-250 in it one shot of ether from the can and it started up just fine. I think the only thing on the truck worth anything was...

    Reciever on deuce

Are you really holding that in place with tow-straps?

    Winter Starting

Well then it seems to work well... I would have guessed a shelter being necessary for -28. I know when it reaches -10 for extended periods that you can have trouble starting even a gas engine vehicle... Did you use ether plus the heating system??? I used to have a hard time starting my jetta...

Looking for a Place to Drive Off-Road in the Deuce in KY...

RE: Looking for a Place to Drive Off-Road in the Deuce in KY Yeah I know about those I was looking for some place cheaper and closer to Louisville and perhaps with fewer regulations..

What sort of temperatures are we dealing with? I mean in my hometown of Windham NY the temps drop to -10 or less at times and if you don't have a shelter plus heating it will not work... Now if we're talking 0-32 then I can see it working.

That's a really good option right there... But you would need a shelter to really make use of it.

    motor life span

Re: RE: Re: RE: motor life span That I don't know but I would bet that a LDT-465-1D or C can last for about 250-300K before needing a serious overhaul. Rebuilding shouldn't be hard, new custom cam, new valves, new rings etc... Then perhaps a new IP and you're good to go.

    Winter Starting

Have you thought about sheltering the truck some? Keeping it out of direct wind and cold will help to keep the vehicle at only ambient air-temperature and not air-temperature plus wind-chill factor. I would construct a light weight shelter to cover the M35A2 with. And then I would use probably...

    motor life span

Re: RE: motor life span Forgot the k... Yeah that should read 600k-900k...

    motor life span

You can rebuild an engine way past the 300k mark... It depends on what you do to it. I mean if you make it a fire-breathing multi-fuel engine cranking out 1200 hp or something absurd like that it will die a horrible death at some not to distant feature point. However, if you keep on rebuilding...

"GREAT LIST " for picking up your Deuce!

RE: Ft. Riley Shop Vans Next, never underestimate the power of positive thinking and coffee.... This coupled with a 7,000-10,000 dollar limit on a 0% interest credit card can make picking up a truck alot better...

Looking for a Place to Drive Off-Road in the Deuce in KY...

Well being city bound in Louisville is just no fun when you have the M35A2... But I'm at a loss as to where I can find a good place to drive my truck. Also going off road alone is boring, I'm thinking that Indiana and Kentucky Members should of a mini-off-road rally??? In fact why don't we...

    Idaho Motor Pool

I hope you plan on filtering that Waste Motor Oil... Pieces of Metal in the injector pump is not conducive to it's health.

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

Yeah, I saw that too but thought that was for only prolonged operations in the cold... I think a regular drying unit would do the trick.

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

Yeah, that's what I thought too... Not that Louisville Kentucky gets many days out of the year below Freezing or at Freezing... I just wanted to make sure I had brakes on those days of the year that it did happen.

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

No, I just have to check before I post. I was typing fast and well that usually tends cause these minor issues in my typing... Like break instead of brake... I didn't even notice I did it. Thanks... The brakes work perfectly but I just don't want them to stop working in the cold weather not that...

How does one actually get Alcohol into the brake system???

That's what I figured I would do... Can I run it without the kit?
