In the manual it advises that one must put alcohol into the air tanks to prevent freezing. Now, I've read and re-read the manuals but there doesn't seem to be a clear description of the process... Where exactly do you add the alcohol and how often should one add it in the winter if say your...
I'm a college student, I live in Louisville go to the University of Louisville for Philosophy and drive a deuce and half around town as a daily driver... Because it is fun to drive even in a city like Louisville. Well you can get books on diesel engine repair and so on. I don't even own a set...
You're right. The truck won't start so the injector pump cannot be trouble shot by running the engine. I was telling him how to test the injector pump's lift pump for future problems... That way he doesn't waste time looking at the tank fuel pump. Once he gets 2psi through the fuel filters...
I bet a modern Eaton-Fuller 6spd Medium Duty transmission would make driving more fun. The ratios are better spread out and they cover more speeds that would help you keep up the engine speed of the deuce why still not over speeding the drive-train. The best part is they are the same size. I...
I would bet even money that the injector's lift pump is seized and the seals are shot. Prolonged periods of inactivity can cause this to happen. You'll need to have it checked out by a mechanic. However, there is an easy way to tell if your lift pump is working properly, when the engine is...
He is wrong in one critical area: there is nothing special about the LDT-465-1 , C, D or LD-465-1... They are just your average run of the mill direct injection 7.8l Diesel engines. The reason they use diesel engines instead of spark-ignition engines is really simple in a multi-fuel application...
mega smoke is not good... The Isothermal cycle requires more heat to burn excess fuel off, so the only way to do that is to increase the cylinder head temperature through a more efficient usage of the extra fuel.
I made simple clear statements about the state of my truck for most of my original post. Corrected some of my earlier positions and asked a few simple questions. I really didn't ask for advice. What I said was that my FDC was removed and I intended to follow the instructions on the engine...
It doesn't seem that inaccurate on this truck, it was within two-gallons of estimate and I drove it around some Friday and let it idle alot as well. So I would say this truck might not of gotten 13.512 like I fist assumed but it was in the 11-12range for sure. I drove it 49 miles today and in...
I've never read that Propane Injection gives you much better fuel economy, I've read that water-methanol will give about 20percent if you maintain standard boast settings.
Yeah I don't think it really works that well, but that is what it does or should do. Personally I think the Depot tuned the injector pump for diesel during the by-pass process and it is running s well I don't want to screw with it.
