Hallelujah! A minor miracle just happened. Went out to poke at the truck today after adding a bit of fluid to the master cylinder yesterday. After moving the truck to a nice clear area of our lot had a friend walk around the truck while pumping the break pedal. Lo and behold the leak was located...
Sorry for a bit of a necro...
The solargizer is on my (increasingly growing) Deuce-To-Do list. I like the stand off idea there. What I'm wonder is how fragile is it? Would significant hail is a problem and require a hard cover?
So here's a few pics. Shows the trucks current (sad) condition. The location with which I'm relatively restricted to with regards to working on it and the suspected wheel (only one I've seen out of all six with any sort of oil stain on the drum). The snow has since melted thankfully.
One of the...
I've read the on and off road load ratings for cargo in the bed, or a trailer, but I haven't seen a combined load rating for the Deuce. Does anyone know what the max rating for both cargo in the bed and a trailer is for both offroad and onroad?
Yup. It's kind of neat how they did the inertial guidance though. Metal sphere suspended in fluid. Other neat systems used included what amounted to an electro-optical sextant. It actually looked around and oriented itself based on star constelations. Plus I suppose when you're lobbing a 500kt...
@tigger: No worries.
@Jimm1099: I've got the kits from OD Iron for rebuilding the wheel cylinders, master cylinder and air pack and doing the axle seals. Doesn't include new bearings so I'll be pulling those and repacking them when I tear everything down. After looking around the area there...
EMP hardened, ECCM (will continue functioning in an EW environment that would put civlian models out of commission), oh and they can decrypt and derive the correct coordinates when the satellite constellations are broadcasting with intentional positioning errors or when there is no civilian...
@armytruck63: Thank you for the clever idea but I no longer have duals on the rear axles.
@jimm1009: First, there is no shelter or weather from the elements available. I've looked. The truck is stored in an open air VFW parking lot. This means I can not afford to leave it disassembled overnight...
I'm stuck in a bit of a quandary. A bit of back story, I live in Aurora, CO however I can't keep my truck nearby due to ne'er-do-well neighbors and a city ordnance limiting vehicle weights parked on streets. The short result is I have to store my truck at my VFW post which is located 30 miles...
Fun times. It's pretty cool to see what these old multifuels can handle. So from what I gather #1FO is about as light as you want to go. What's the heaviest it can handle? #4 Fuel Oil? Navy Special or Heavy Bunker Oil(#6 fuel oil)?
From what I read on there those SINCGARS being offered don't support frequency hopping. Materiale capable of such action is highly controlled. You'd probably be hard pressed to get the crypto box (let alone one with any keys loaded) as well.
So I'm plodding along with getting my radio and VIC-1 hooked up. Unfortunately this project got massively slowed down due to disposable income levels dropping off (selling off a couple items I don't really use to help fund this through to finish).
There is a cable that is being excessively...
