Hello SS
I've decided the time has come to fix an oil leak on the front of our M813, I'm tired of oil coating the inside of the engine area. I have assumed it was the front crank seal behind the harmonic balancer. Pulled the grill, radiator and harmonic balancer to get to the seal. Looking at...
Topless
Picture of my first deuce in a parade, always liked running without the top. Every truck I have purchased with a hard top has had the hard top traded for a soft top.

Hello SS,
I'm in need of the large gasket / O-ring at the bottom of the M211 air cleaner housing. This is the gasket that the removable bottom pan seals against, the diameter is approx 8" across, unlike a O-ring it's profile is more flat or square.

Amber lights
Welcome fellow M-series GMC owner,
Here is a pic of my front marker lights converted to full amber lens. These were made by milling out the front light cover and siliconing in a full lens, easy to switch back to original style covers for shows. I also have adapted the black out...
M211
Hello Tim,
Try Alfa Haven who is an advertiser here or Memphis Equipment. Before I was able to purchase an original air horn to cleaner hose I used 3"(?) flex duct used for truck heater ducting.
Good luck, Karl
M211 parts
Great trucks!
I have been dragging my feet on purchasing a M221 tractor that is available and fairly complete, now I want one of each of the earily GMCs.
jdmcm, how is parts availability in Canada for your GMCs? Some items are getting tough to find, I'm still looking for the big O...
VA Rally
Hey Mike,
Are your plans to return to the same camping area Friday and Saturday nights? I had planned on rigging one of my M105 + shelter as a camper, did not want to tow it during the trail rides and was hoping I could leave it in one location.
I could be available in March to help...
Replacement seat cushions
I have replaced the original horse hair stuffing in our vehicles seats with sleeping mat. The military sleeping mat material is closed foam and will not adsorb water. We use the old cushions as patterns, since the sleeping mat material is only 1/2" thick we glue 3-4...
VA Rally
Hey Mike,
What are your thoughts on trail clearances, will a 5 ton with rear cargo cover installed be OK or too tall? I'm debating whether to pull the M105 with the S250 shelter as a camper or just use the back of the 5 ton w / cover. I don't want to damage my new rear cover for the...
VA Rally
What! I was planning on driving the halftrack, OK maybe not this year or the year after that, should be done 3-4 years. I'll just have to bring the M813, can't risk scratching the little dump truck.

Hydramatic
JasonS,
One of my parts tranny came out of an old Cadillac (40s vintage?) and I have used some parts for my GMC. The Caddy tranny does not have the two speed reduction unit of couse. I don't know how much of the interal parts are interchangeable.

Hydramatic questions
Majortom, great information on these trucks,
Maybe you can help with a problem that I have been trying to work out on my GMC. My tranny is set up with a REB shifter, when cold the tranny will slip in 1st and 2nd in high range, does not slip in low range. Once the tranny is...
Hydramatic
As a follow up to this original post, the referb tranny supplied by Memphis was bad, ended loosing reverse completely. After a little effort on my part Memphis did supply a replacement tranny even though it was out of their 90 day warranty.

Chambersburg
I have always had an easy go with the guys at Chambersburg. While waiting for the EUCs to clear use the time to prep the vehicles for the trip home. Just call them and make sure it is Ok in advance. On past sells I have been able to drive my civiy truck in through the gate and work...
Multi-fuel heads
I have had the pleasure of doing this job twice on two M35s I have owned. Easy to do, just read and follow the TMs. Most have had bad luck with the surplus head bolt wrenchs, I made up my own by welding a 1/2" drive socket to the end of a shortened box wrench.
No need to remove...
