I have restored cars that looked about as good. Man you got a BIG job ahead of you! Nothing is impossable with patience and knowlege. Good luck, can't wait to see it when it's done.
I agree about getting it shipped. There is a member on here that might be able to help you. His screen name is stanleycr1. His company shipped my deuce from North Carolina to Connecticut and I could not drive it home for that price by the time you figured fuel , tolls, food and hotel.
First off, make sure batterys are in good working order. The extreme cold will effect them even if they are fairly new. Load test them when the temp is in the problem range. Next, check all connections and make sure there are star washers behind each connection. You can have a buddy try to crank...
Tomorrow morning I will have a new piece of green iron in my driveway. I just purchased a 67 M35A2 w/o winch from Jay, Bulldog-Mack13. I just want to mention Jay has been a great help through the whole process and I consider him a friend that I would help out at any time. He has posted pictures...
Man, 500 bucks for a coolant heater? Before I pay someone that amount of money for a heater, the deuce sits in the driveway till spring. Thats just ridiculous!
I have seen a few On ebay with engine and trans swaps but the rest of the truck is much to be desired. Good luck on your search. Hope you find one in good shape to fit your needs.
On some 80's Ford trucks, there was a firewall flexing problem that they fixed with a brace kit on the clutch master cylinder. Does the pedal feel normal and not too much play? The guys here have pretty much covered all the other causes.
If you find one in decent shape and runs with a good automatic trans, it would be a shame to break it up. These trucks in good shape are getting harder to find and I can see a growing interest in them. I'm sure other guys will chime in let you know the pros and cons of engine , trans and...
I had a 53 M-37 and drove it daily for 5 years and it never let me down. The guys have pretty much covered most of your options already so I wont repeat them. The bottom line is it is a very dependable vehicle and you will have a blast with it. WPNS421 is right about spending a little more money...
I found a set of plug wires on E-bay for 50.00 a while back for my truck. Every so often they come up. You might check Alfa- Heaven. They have a lot of G749 parts.
Do you have a multimeter? If so see if there is battery voltage to large wire on the starter. If that is good then have someone turn the ignition to the start position and see if you have voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid. If all this is good then you probably have a bad starter...
Have not been called a redneck cause anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a gearhead that loves the thrill of fast cars and motorcycles. I think the words that come to mind that I have been called are "crazy"," nuts"," out of my mind" and a few others that I can't repeat at this time!
I wish there were more deuces around my neck of the woods to check out from private owners. Just not that many around. Would be interested in buying M35A2 for a decent price.
Hello, Welcome to the site. The TM9-1819AC manual covers the whole process. If you want to PM me I will scan it for you and send it. It is a very good idea to get the manuals for these trucks because they are unique in certain areas. The manuals cover everything from removing an engine to...
