Barrett- Jackson is nothing more than a high class game that the rich play! It's a game of suspence to see who is the biggest idiot to pay to much for an antique or classic vehicle. That jeep was probably worth 15 to 20 thousand tops . I have restored a few vehicles in my time and you never get...
AMGeneral, sorry I don't have the tools you need but Tom over at Alfa Heaven may be able to help you find them or give you some tips on adjusting. He has many of these trucks and uses them daily. He was great help to me on my tranny problem. Bob C.
First you need to identify if it's a fuel or spark problem. Run the truck till it cuts out and then spray carb clean or starting fluid in the carb throat. Do not open the throttle when cranking to prevent a backfire. If it starts back up, it is a fuel problem. If not I would look towards...
Hey Superdave, any more of those hardtops kicking around up there and if so what is the going price? Great job on the truck by the way. Got two years into my m-211 picking at it. Can't wait to see it done.
I used an M-35 flasher, harness and signal switch. Tied them into the existing wires and ran new wires for the signal lights front and rear. Here are some pictures.
I wired in two of the combination brake and running lamps so I have two of each. For signals, I installed two later model M35 tail lamps so I have signals and more running lamps. I will post pictures tomorrow
As per tm9-8024 manual, if throttle linkage is adjusted too long, it will cause all shifts to occur at too high speeds. If linkage is adjusted properly, the governor in the transmission can contribute to shifting at too high speeds. You may also have a transmission control valve problem that can...
I would use a good quality RTV. Ford makes a RTV used to seal oil pans on diesel motors that I have used for years that is the best I have seen. I just went through this with my 302 in my M-211. I bought an oil pan set still in the package and when I opened it , the gaskets just fell apart. I'm...
Looking at the door handle, take out the two screws that secure the handle. The handle pulls right out. Inspect the shaft. It should be square with sharp edges. Sometimes the shafts round off and don't get a good bite on the door latch. Make sure the latch is tight also.
There is a large clutch release spring in the rear of the transmission that is probably broken. You need to remove the reduction unit to get at it. Call Tom at Alfa - Heaven he will steer you in right direction. He has helped me a great deal by his knowlege. PM me for pictures, I have manuals...
I have had great luck with POR. You have to read the can and do just what it says. It is not made to go over paint. It is a rust stopper. It can be applied over rust just so long all loose debris has been removed. You are right about applying topcoat before it hardens. I guess it's a matter of...
Did anyone stop to think the reason so many new guys ask a lot of questions is they are NEW to the site and want to become a part of it. I am a Master Auto Tech and have been for many years. I have access to countless manuals and information but sometimes you just would like to talk to someone...
