    Welding for dummies

There are great books out there that cover theory and settings. No matter where you learn to weld, hands on experiance is the only way you get better. I have never taken any courses and can weld to suit any of my needs including restoring many vehicles. Like Cdub said , go out and by a GOOD mig...

Videos & Photos of rebuilding transmission

Thanks Steve for the advice. I don't like leaving parts out either. I just didn't know if they found that the trans performed better without it. I'm going to install it the same way it came out, with the check valve and spring. The REB SHIFT kit is already installed in the trans, all I have to...

1008 turn and brake light problem

Still sounds like a bad signal light switch. The brake lights run through the signal switch. You might try to wiggle the signal handle a bit with your foot on the brake to see if the lights come on.

1008 turn and brake light problem

You guys are right about the switch but you should be able to get at the wires at the bottom of the steering column without taking the steering wheel off.Just probe wires or connector with a meter and monitor voltage with signal on.It should vary fom voltage to zero if the switch is good.I have...

    Electrical Dilema

If power is coming out of the back of the switch, It's probably an open circut [broken wire] close to the switch or just before a splice.

    Few Deuce Newbie questions...

About that oil leak.Did you get the truck with the crankcase over full? What you should do is drain down the oil to the full level and drive somemore to see if the level creeps up again.Overfull crankcases can cause oil leaks. If it does, you may be getting fuel in the oil .If it doesn't, maybe...

    LOADS, brakes, power...

I agree with you 100%. Just because we own MILITARY VEHICLES does not mean you can load them till the springs bottom out. My GMC is rated at 10000 lbs highway and 5000 lbs off road. Now if you want to overload your truck off road thats up to you.The only thing it will hurt is your truck. But if...
