Here is our 1958 Reo M35a2.
We've had it since '08 and spent a lot of time on body work and paint but it turned out really nice. My Father, kids, and I have all worked on this and we love it!
We have taken it to parades, rides in the country, grocery store, work, and of course camping a lot...
I have always wanted a S-250 to make a camper out of. I ended up getting a S-280 a while ago and used it in my duce and then put it on a dolly(Not very handy to manuver).
So crusing craigslist back in March I found this S-250E (extended) locally so I bought it. (came from a really nice guy...
This last weekend we took the truck camping, so I finally had some alone time with the truck.
Really like my truck setup, but dry tool/equipment storage is kind of a problem for me. Putting items in the shelter is just not feasible, there are 5 of us sleeping in it! The onboard toolbox is...
Had the truck out this weekend camping and noticed a part number cast or forged into the lower brackets. I come up with this NSN#5340-01-136-4979
BRACKET,ANGLE 11588321
Hope this helps,
Mike
After doing some research on the site I found that my shelter has the lower brackets in place.
The lower ones would be the most important and hardest to duplicate.
Upper ones were never installed. I plan to fabricate/duplicate them using pictures.
Well, we've been camping in our truck/shelter combo, but would like to free it up so we can just go for a ride or whatever. I would like to try to tow the shelter connected to the dolly, while camping with it.... but we'll see how it goes.
Well, Tuesday we set off to nearby Ft McCoy (Sparta, WI) to recover the M720 dolly set (in the rain).
The whole trip was very good and pretty much uneventful, which is OK. The GL employee was hesitant to try to lift it with the silly short forks on their end-loader. We took some load rated...
My gov rebuilt 465 has a similar sticker on it.
It also came with the dyno results (a whopping 230hp!!!) and engine oil analysis paperwork.
The rebuild tag says standard bore and crank so I assume they used new parts, but??????
I've always wondered what else was done to it.
Edit: Not...
SS member, 4052 had some. They were for 11.00-20s, brand new, mil. surplus, very heavy duty, and the price was very reasonable. They can be cut down to fit 9.00-20s and you end up with extra cross chains!
I received 5 pair and he shipped all ten in individual flat rate medium boxes.
This was...
Figure 2-13. Side elevation, truck, cargo, WWN and WOWN, M35A2.
Maybe its for tie-down to pallet, aircraft, truck, train, etc....
Only 695lb cap each, thats 8,340lbs total. A little weak.
Thanks guys!
Hello all,
We finally wrapped up our body work and now are having the duce painted with CARC (the good stuff). Our painter is intrigued by the handle looking things on the frame, you know there is one by the bumper, one above front axle and 4 on the rear on each side for a total of 12.
My...
Hello all.
Just wondering if anyone out there knows what a M35 complete rear axle with brake drums minus wheels would weigh?
I am thinking about taking a trip and hauling back an axle if I can get away with my small 4x8 tilt trailer.
My tow vehicle currently is an S10 blazer, so the M101...
Well guys I took your advice and ordered the crane and a 3000lb remote controlled winch from them for $50. (If anyone is interested in knowing the coupon code to get 50% off of the winch let me know.)
