Some good idea's here.
The stumps are Eucalyptus, and vary from two foot diameter to three foot diameter. There are about twelve to remove. Our local stump grinder died from an accident last year. I will try to have a local backhoe operator work around the bases, then give the truck a try. The...
Just wondering what is the weak point for the M923a2. I want to try and pull some stumps out, and I don't know what will give up first, The stump, the tire traction, the transmission, U-joints, ?????
Today I called DMV "California" and they told me that I needed to physically go to a local office to start registration before the 30 days expired from date of invoice. I went in and they time stamped my "paid in full" invoice. No late fees now. Since I don't take possession of our M923a2 until...
I have done extensive searching on SF-97 information. I put in parentheses what I think they want for each entry. Is this correct?
The form asks these questions:
Year "1991"
Make "BMY"
Model "M923a2"
VIN "serial number"
Body style "truck cargo"
color "camouflage" (maybe) "green"...
Ok,,, I have been reading the "10" and see the diagram on the operation of the CTIS system, but still can not visualize how you can get air into a rotating tire. ???
Also they reference the tool box for CTIS tools and spare tire tools. Did most of you receive those tools, or were they...
I imagine that because of the weight of the truck, the transmission when adding more power is under more stress.
Cummins engines with Allison transmissions handle over 400 hp easily in a light Dodge pickup.
Probably a different story with a 20,000 pound M923a2.
Thanks Randy, but I am near Redding, which is about 152 miles north of Sacramento.
I appreciate any and all suggestions. Nine more days. I just talked to the hauler, and the date is confirmed to arrive on Monday the 23rd. Our local Diesel tuners says that they make the 8.3 Cummins engine put...
Well;
I guess I get an early Christmas present. The hauler just called and will deliver our truck on the 23rd of Dec. I have a dumb question.,,, How do you start the truck?
It might help to know this, to drive it off the trailer.
I am not sure what year it is. I purchased it from GL and have only seen pictures of it via the internet. On one picture it shows it is compliant with 1990 CARB laws. What is the best way to tell the year? Date delivered tag was not legible in the picture. I meet the transporter tomorrow. It...
Well, I just did it. When it arrives, I will take some pictures. No rust, clean with 15,912 miles and 852 hours. The engine looks very clean.
Any suggestions on what I should inspect, would be appreciated.
I was told that the bleeder valve sometimes releases the air from the tire back to the tank, causing a flat tire. How do you fix the bleeder valve problem?
I am still looking to purchase my first truck. If both trucks are the same price and condition, which would be the better deal? I don't want to resale, just keep for weekend fun.
I wonder if you can non-op the truck until it becomes 26 years old? I would not mind if the truck sat on our property for a couple of years until it would qualify for historical status.
