Yep, great guys to deal with over there. I got a set of five 37x12.50's from them a few months ago, and I just picked up my lift yesterday. I'm using aluminum wheels on mine, though. Hopefully I'll be putting it all on this weekend!
I used to install car audio & security systems. These were left over from those days. Nylon is correct, for some reason I was thinking vinyl. Maybe one too many sips from the Sour Apple Sass bottle last night lol
Yes. That may not be the proper way to do it, but it's working for me, and I've had civvy 6.2's in the past and they were that way when i bought them, and were still that way when I sold them.
I just used regular old 1/4" crimp on speaker connectors. They were quality pieces though, not cheap-o Harbor Freight stuff. They are completely vinyl insulated from tip to tip. I keep an eye on them to make sure the vinyl insulation hasn't melted from the heat, and have yet to see any issues...
When I bought my 1008 the previous owner told me he had installed new glow plugs. They looked new so I have no reason to doubt his word (he's a member here, anyway). They were Wellman's and in a few short months they were shot. I actually munched one of the tips in cylinder #1 after it burned...
I had a set of 31x10.50 Duratracs on my '94 Wrangler a couple of years ago. They did well off road and had good on road manners, but I hated their ability to pick up small stones and hang onto them in the tread. This provided an annoying "click click click click click" at times from the stones...
I appreciate your opinion; I'm sure it comes from experience. However, I'm not wanting to debate which turbo is best. I'm simply trying to gauge the average cost of a used factory 6.5L turbocharger in good, useable condition and see if it's worth my time to repair this one or simply send it...
How much are you guys paying for just the turbo if you're piecing your system together? I bought a GM-4 from someone on eBay, $100 delivered, and discovered it has a leaking compressor side oil seal so it needs work. I've talked it over with the guy and he's agreed to take it back and refund the...
Yes, I also checked the trans fluid as well when searching for where the coolant was going. I've been reading up (read: scaring myself) about other possibilities, such as the cracked head or cracks in a cylinder wall. Man, I really don't want to have to buy another engine! I'm really hoping that...
I just bought my M1008 last weekend. When I test drove it, there was a lot of white smoke from the exhaust. It wasn't there under normal driving, just under a heavy load (like when the throttle was pressed more than half way). I figured that since the truck had been sitting a while that maybe it...
I'm a machinist and you're right. it's not billet. It's most likely an extrusion used for the tanks and regular tubing and fins for the core. All the same, it's still most likely a better radiator than what's available at Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts, and much cheaper too.
Okay, I got a few pics, but the sun was very bright and as anyone that owns an iPhone knows, the cameras on these phones aren't the greatest.
The entire system looks to be a custom-made deal. It could be a store bought system from a small outfit, but all the same, it's dirt simple. One large...
Sorry, I don't know much about the setup. I'll take a few pics of it tomorrow and post them up. Maybe that will jog someone's memory that may know more about it than I do.
I'm not sure about that A/C bracket, but I just picked up an M1009 and someone has put A/C on it. The compressor is mounted under the driver's side alternator. Not much help, I know. Just thought I'd let you know where mine is mounted.
