A good product to use for anti cavitation corrosion is Motorcraft VC8 which is available at any Ford Dealer for $6.90 per bottle. If I remember correctly it is 1 bottle per gallon so you will probably need 2 but that should keep you until the next coolant replacement which is every 2 years.
My 2 cents. If you are in the cold Northern regions you will need to add a block heater.
Check for fuel leaks and do a complete service of everything. Could be IP seals, leaky or clogged injectors, return line, filters, etc. Doghead mod is a must! Bypassing the glowplug controller is something I...
Welcome! Do keep us informed to the WVO conversion. Your problem could be a variety of things. Search the posts you will find the help you need as there is awealth of info here. Good luck!
Water is the best as some of the solvents in store brand flushes can cause more harm then good if not totally removed from the system after using. Also remember after refilling the radiator to add some anti cavitation corrosion inhibitor which will extend the life of your cooling system. You...
I have just acquired all of the parts to go power from a civy blazer and that will be my preventative fix and eventually I will sell my manual handle that still works fine but does not lock nor does it have any way of locking as it is just flip out and crank. Another reason to replace.
I find these work the best for me and are climate and situational specific:
Improve Diesel Power, Improve Diesel Fuel Quality
Ford Motorcraft PM22A has also worked very well:

Jdmdia you might want to do a complete chassis lube and service the front bearings, ujoints, axles, and transfer case. ARYankee if theres nothing wrong with the GP system leave it alone. Mine works just fine and starts on the first crank and is like it was from the factory. Make sure you are...
Tighten up. That Steel Soldier of yours needs a medic and youre it! Just get started and fix one thing. I find the satisfaction of accomplishing one thing motivates me to move onto another. Showing the beast off afterwards has it's rewards as well as giving you the drive to go further. Push on...
The Doghead Mod is tried, proven to work, and be reliable unfortunately however the CUCV's I have learned are prone to electrical gremlins that are easily eradicated with patience and by following the TM's. Thanks Doghead!!!
Inspect, lubricate especially hubs and joints, replace all fluids, doghead mod, check oil cooler lines, if the oil pan is leaking and you have to go into it is a good time time to install a DSG stud girldle (will increase engine life and help with future mods). Quoting one of the other members "...
Some possibilities: trans was over filled or the vent tube was clogged allowing it to build up pressure till it let go. If It was just overfilled the extra blew out and now your fluid level is fine. Are you checking the fluid with the engine running in park after warming it up for a minute? If...
Yikes! No brakes and the early hub, tire, and wheel set up. Be careful towing with any load. Taking it home empty will be OK but with no brakes loaded that will push you right through a stop light if not careful. You may want to consider a conversion to electric brakes.
I say for the price of the 08 Wrangler you could have bought an M1009 and an M1008 or 1028 having both done up the way you wanted and having a backup vehicle. If I were you I would go with an M1008 converted with a 700r4 trans swap and a nice topper or do an 09 to the same spec. Doghead mod and...
I have been pulling around an m116a3 modified with an m105 body with civy Econoline 8 lug aluminum wheels behind my Suburban for years without a problem. I traded it for repair work on my boat which I regret. I bought an M101a3 a few months ago and towed it with the burb with no problem. The...
I have a feeling it is just a dry start condition. GM's are notorious for this as my Suburban knocked 3 times every now and then @ cold start up. It used to sit for weeks before the next use. Try some Lucas it helped in the burb smoothing it out and making it less frequent but wasn't a cure as @...
Just be careful with the 6.2-6.5 in a can unless you are one of the lucky ones to find a new one. They were all removed for a reason unless you are ready to do a rebuild but using a diesel engine towing the load you mentioned is the way I would go either gearing down to 3:73 or going with the...
