I just received a "CP-3050 Benmar Multifuel Heater" and it came with everything but the installation guide. If anyone would have a TM, FM or instructions of any sort I would appretiate it. The -10 only tells how to start the heater but there is nothing on installation. I guess I could allways...
[quoteI couldn't hear any "poof" noise. How noticeable is it? I also didn't notice any poof noise while cranking. I'm convinced there something not right with it

The easiest way to tell if its working is to feel the intake manifold after firing it off. Or you can disconnect the low air buzzer(in cab on fire wall) turn on the assry switch. You will hear the in tank pump humming, next hit the preheat switch you should be able to hear it pump and light off...

Your best bet is to put a direct reading gauge on. The sending unit is on the right side of the engine on the back corner, I removed the air filter housing to make it easier to access.I had a 20 psi drop at idle cold to hot. It turned out that # 2& 3 mains were bad due to a bent crank. Good Luck!!
<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">have you pulled your gauge cluster? My lights were very dim also. there are small windows on the sides of the gauges that accumalate alot of dust/dirt. Take an old tooth brush and brush off the windows- bada-bing its like driving in day...
Apperently it was a wildcat design. The gear requires a bearing splitter and a press to seperate. So I had to remove the lifters and remove the cam/camgear as an assembly. Just thought you might like to know.
to remove the crank I've gor to remove the frnt plate. To remove the frnt plate I've got to remove the cam gear. The cam gear only has two holes for cam retainer access bolts. there is also no cam gear retainer bolt. Am I missing something??? <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_help.gif"...
