DonK, if you do a search on the site, you will find MULTIPLE threads regarding starting issues on these beasts. I've got no problem helping you find information for your truck, but some of the older, grumpier members :D get mad when you ask questions that can be found in the TM's or by using...
Welcome to the addiction! By the way, nopics Sounds like you got a helluva lot done to your rig. You will find a lot of great info on this site! Just make sure you do a search on the site before you ask simple questions! Be sure you read the CUCV Wiki article Cucv Wiki - Steel...
Wow- I appreciate all of the replies! Glad to hear this this is a common problem on these things. When I go to rebuild it, should I just go with the 205 and call it a day? From what I have read, those are pretty indestructible being that it has gears and not a chain...?
John, I aint trying to be a prick, but I left out what kind of case it is on purpose. I made mention of it possibly being the nylon tabs on the fork wearing out, so that when one would respond, they SHOULD know that it is a 208, and MIGHT know something about that particular T-Case. The 205...
On the way home today, I had to hit the brakes rather hard in order to miss a car coming on the road (one way dirt road). As I was braking, I pulled off the road and let the car pass. I went to pull back on the road, and got no response from the drivetrain. I did check the dumb stuff first...
I'm glad to see someone still has some common decency towards their trusty pickem up truck! [thumbzup] I still have my first C/K 1500 with 292,000 miles (original 350, burns a quart every 1k miles, new rear end at 234k and rebuilt tranny at 251k.). I dont think I will ever get rid of it. I'd...
Sounds like you didnt bleed the lines. Remove the pink wire from the injector solenoid and crank it over 3 or 4 times to move the air through (it won't start with the pink wire off), check for leaks, connect pink wire and start it up.
Yes excessive amounts of starting fluid will dry out the...
My truck does exactly what you said- It starts great when it's cold now, but even when it's hot, I have to crank on it to get it to start. I havent touched the IP so I havent done anything to that fitting on top of the pump. Can you replace those?
Warthog, that's kind of what I figured. Doing the Spin on Fuel Filter mod made a night and day difference. It could be 90 degrees out and not start with the old box style filter. Now this morning it started great at 37 degrees, and I didnt have to heat the plugs. I FIGURED that I was...
check out this thread. I used the same parts he did, but I mounted it a bit different. It cost me about 65$ in parts. Good luck! http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/36435-my-cucv-spin-fuel-filter-mod.html
I know yall are probably tired of reading thread after thread about IPs...But I need some second opinions about my scenario. My 1009 electrical system is stock except that I have a push button plug heater. Since I bought the truck it has had some starting issues. So far I have replaced the...
I JUST did this to my 1009- the front and rear have different seals.
Front-Gasket GM# 458860
Rear-Gasket GM# 26016662
I went to Oreilly's and gave them the GM numbers and they had them in stock...hope this helps.....:grd:
