    electric fans

on my old YJ wrangler I added an electric fan and gained 6HP on an otherwise stock 2.4L I4. I would imagine similar, if not more of a gain out of the 6.2...

    m1009 before and after

I ordered the 3/4 ton kit. (RC part number 140H) I didn't order rear springs; I just got the blocks. The rear springs are 2 1/2 inches wide and 52 inches long. (FYI-If you go to the FAQ article http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showwiki.php?title=wiki:Cucv on the CUCV forum page, it lists the...

    Fuel issues

Hoolio, What would you call "slight" wetness? I have a similar issue...I'm hoping it's not my IP and that it is my stock box style filter. As you can see in my picture, I have wetness on the hoses leading out of the filter box. I want to do the spin on mod, I just need to get out there and...

Made it home with my new 1009

how do you like that dash carpet? I need to replace my dash...But I am not convinced to buy a pad off of ebay for 130$. I saw that the carpets are selling for 69$. Carpets to me though, seem like an old man add on. I tired of looking at my busted dash pad but am unsure of what to put over it?

    lights out

Don't flame me for this, but at the end of your sentence about the world standard, it SHOULD be- It's the world standard, and sadly it is also a site rule to use capitalization, punctuation, and proper grammar. Im just throwing that out there! :) ***I'm bracing for impact...:x

    Fuel issues

sounds like your IP is letting air in. It's burning what fuel is in there, then pushing air into the chamber until after cranking for a while as you said, it finally "flushes" all the air out and gets the diesel to combust. SOUNDS like it might be time for your IP to be rebuilt...you can try...

    Hub Screws

I keep having issues keeping the screws (part number 3 in the picture) in the from hub covers from backing out. I have lost a total of 3 of them (2 on the left front, 1 on the right). I don't know if this is indicative of a problem, or maybe I am not putting enough ass behind it when i tighten...

Thoughts on this eBay front u-joint?

:ditto: you're going to pay almost 17$ with shipping for a part that you can get at your local parts store for 10$. If it is the wrong part, do what the wise wreckerman suggested....TAKE IT BACK and get the RIGHT ONE! Dont hassle with the online mess for parts like a u joint

    m1009 before and after

Just finished up this tank. I got 16.2 mpg with just city driving. It really didn't drop any noticeable amount. the .4-.7 mpg difference could just be my driving style, rather than just bigger tires. Either way, there is no real NOTICEABLE difference in my city driving. The highway was a...

    Electrical

the TM's are a great place to start...you need to post more symptoms other then "the starter battery drains down". That doesnt really tell us anything. Before you get flogged by some of the grumpier members, try using the search on the forum. There are a lot of great threads on electrical...

    m1009 before and after

SGT Estum- My rig sits right at 80 inches. Maybe a bit more, but it's hard to tell when you're standing next to it with a tape measure. At its' highest point just behind the windshield, it appears to be right at 80 or 80.5 inches. It easily fits in my garage, but I have to have the wife hold...

    Fuel Leak /unknown location

Seabee- I'm having a similar problem. My fuel pump lines are dry, but around the fuel filter it is moist on the bottom side, and if you look closely at the picture, you can see the dampness on some of the lines. I'm ASSUMING this is the source of my fuel leak? And I am ASSUMING this is why my...

    m1009 before and after

@ bobert- I went with a Rough Country 2 inch (RC part number 140H), springs in the front w/blocks in the rear. RC offers the kit with rear springs, but they wanted 235$ more. EVENTUALLY I will put springs in the rear, but funds were a little tight when I ordered this kit. I've put 420 miles on...

    m1009 before and after

It was well worth the 340$! It rides so much better then stock. Of course the stock setup was WORE OUT after 25 years of use, so naturally it rides better with new springs and shocks! The kit was SUPER easy to install. I think the hardest part was the top shock bolts in the rear. All you...

So, How reliable is the M1009 vs. The Deuce?

AG said it best. Deuce is a helluva beast to have and play with, the M1009 CAN be made into a great daily driver with minimal modifications!
