Like the idea, looks very "bumpery", but prime for jeans taring ! Are you gonna "end cap" the I beam either side? (will need a drain hole in the web too! )
Cat walks were not a "factory" item - so not in any TM. May have been a base mod or civi addition? Do you have a history of it?
A few wrecker owners have fab'd them.
(I have never had an issue accessing a standard crane cupola - just be careful with greasy/muddy boots.)
CSMDavis may have a...

Thanks. Have written on there about a post that I may be able to assist with.
Colt - I just found this thread. I had to rebuild the rear support leg on my M116A3 - don't see a big issue in cutting it down for the smaller tyres. All I'd do is punch out the roll pin, separate the two halves, cut off enough to make it the right height for you. Re drill new roll pin hole...
I did similar with mine :-

This type off anchor ("Scotches") are much lighter to handle and they have a lot of positive down pressure where the standard wrecker ground spades have to be dug in and only...
This the bare bones design for my fly jib - good enough for roof trusses. - Length of fly jib, height of goal post and lengths of tethers should be proportional to your needs. I can measure my pieces later if that will help. Try a search in wrecker mods for fly jib - I think I did a similar...
Yup - I did it for my M816 so I could place timber roof trusses over the "House Of Wrecker" (The "Cottage Name" slate my wife got me for a present) as I built a lean-too which was then where I am tearing it down for restoration.
Don't know I still have any pics - previous lap top crashed...
That seems awfully "Heath Robinson" (cobbled together - can't remember the correct 'American' term). Wouldn't there be a 'bespoke' pin on a chain ? I looked in the TM but it's only for maintenance etc., not operation.
That is a photo I found. I need the whole lamp x 2. I'll try look through all my other pics to see if I have a close up. That lamp wasn't ever sold in the US as far as I know. Probably a Hella?
Wasn't me - came like that from DRMO 2 weeks ago. Lots had gotten clobbered inc front jack leg, hub cap missing, rear stabiliser bust, brake line crimped and split..... But yes, that's the part that got mangled.
.
Kinda got it straightened out - not too pretty but I think it will be...
I need a pair of these - don't think that they are still available new...
but one thing that seems to be hard to get is reproduction ADF rego plates - preferably the earlier white on black rather than the green on white. Even old civilian ones seem impossible - which could be used to copy...
M116A3 Surge brake grenaded!
Damper took a hit too.
Hopefully I can unpeel this lot and see how it was originally made. May have to cut out the whole center and re-man it. Issue will be making it the correct size to engage the spring retainer.
I guess there's no "REPAIRING" the damper...
!st in line if you want to make more of the mod'd front valve covers!!!!! Please!
Very clear and pro presentation of your project. Thanks for this thread.
