There you go thinking too much into it again....remember, the switch you are using switches the neutral...so, when you are on utility power, the neutral coming from the generator is not used. It's not connected to anything because of the nature of the switch, so it does nothing...can't have any...
You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be.
First and foremost, unless your transfer switch is a double throw (meaning it has a center position on the handle, with no connection to anything anywhere) then you WILL need some means of service disconnect between your meter and...
That little trailer at Special Ed's place is going to be at Kips place on the 1st or the 2nd. I wanted to get it over there this weekend, but it ain't gonna happen. My schedule doesn't allow enough free time to make the run until my next days off.
Better check the cutter a little more closely. The output may be 200 amps, but I have never heard of one with an input anywhere near that high. I am not saying they are not out there, I just have never seen or heard of one.
Kind of like a welder...output may be 200 or 300 amps, but the input...
That's what I was thinking too, but it's still gonna be bad.
I may not even do them at all right now, now that I know they are not greased. I was only going to pull the rears apart to check/repack the bearings because the truck sat for so long. But if the bearings sat in oil they should be...
Read this thread, MEP-002a and -003a main breaker.
Everything you are asking about the breakers is in that thread.
Just about anything you want or need to know about the generator has already been asked and answered here on the forum. It's just a matter of finding it. :D
Got some more work done today. Pulled the front brakes and cleaned and repacked the front bearings. it turned out that the passenger side bearing, while not as rusty as the hub, did have some damage to them...so I had to send the wife for a new set while I worked. That ate up some of my time...
My engine seems to run good. I just think having a gas engine on a diesel truck is a little out of place. Why not use one fuel tank and one battery. That's the other thing I might change...run some battery cables from the front battery to the welder and eliminate the extra battery. I highly...
Yeah Kenny, I am close to Summit, but I ordered these hubs from Warnfactoryoutlet.com. I figured as long as I had them by weeks end I would be good. Getting them as soon as I did was a bit of a shock.
When I lived in N.E. Ohio still and worked in Canton I used to drive right by Summit pretty...
Oh, let's see...

Anyplace that sells auto parts pretty much. They are civilian lockouts available just about anywhere. OEM's are Warn hubs. Anyplace that sells Warn products can get them too. They are not...
I made some progress over the last day or so. Yesterday morning when i got home from work I changed the engine oil out (Although it was probably new from the previous owner...new filter at the least). Also checked the fluid in the diffs. Still have to check the transfer case level and...
Congrats on getting the unit up and running Jim.
I just made a sticky thread in the auxiliary equipment forum with a quick and simple test for the charging system...Charging System Test
The DC regulators are definitely a weak link on these generators. It's hard to tell if it was damaged or...
Gotta talk to gimp some more. I was planning on going down 77 from my side of the state. But depends on when ya'll leave we may be hooking up somewhere
