Pulled my starter off today and took it to a shop that tests and rebuilds starters here in Tucson. While reading the TM's reference pulling the starter there is a warning as to making sure that you support the starter to avoid injury from it falling on you. Apparently the people who wrote this...
Have had a similar problem with my M-1010. Occasionally a loud whinning noise that I thought had to be a flat spot on the starter. I am able to start my vehicle by rocking it back and forth in park or if I am on a slight incline allowing it to roll a little and then putting it in park. It...
I think that I have the "Jo bolts" on my trailer given your description and I am planning on replacing them with conventional bolts, nuts and washers.

I'm getting ready to replace the wood slats on the side of my trailer. They appear to be fastened (most of them) with a rivet-type bolt. Has anyone removed these and if so is there an easy way without causing a lot of damage. I don't want to do a lot of grinding if there is another way to do...
With the price of diesel now over $4 a gallon here in Tucson and the theft of both gas and diesel on the rise I decided to get a locking cap for my M-1010. After trying every auto supply in Tucson with no luck I would like to know if anyone else has a possible online source.
Thanks, Dennis
Nick54, just wondering...I just went on the GMA website for the trailer cover. I noticed that it was listed as M101, M101A1. Does the cover fit your M101A2?
I am hoping so because that is a great deal.

After several months of searching I took WPNS421's advice, called Eastern , they did a search and two days ago my hose arrived. A little spendy but when you can't find them paying a little extra is good insurnace. Thanks for the advice!

The original lower hose on the M-1010 is a GM 14067763. This hose now cross references to the Gates 21285 and a similar Dayco product. After purchasing one of each and trying to install them it is obvious that they are completely different in their configuration. The original hose turns down...
Ol Ag '89, nope, the ones they have are for all the COCV's with the exception of the M-1010. The reason is that the M-1010 has both alternators on one side, the lower ones belt will interfere with the normal hose that fits all the other CUCV's.

I purchased my M-1010 from Jack a couple months ago. Jack is a great guy and his son Josh is as very good mechanic and a great guy also. Two really good guys to do business with. His yards are like going to the Smithsonian, you need to spend a lot of time!

Thanks for the input, problem is the M-1010 has two alternators, the right side one is lower and the belt will cut the hose of the typical CUCV vehicle. I ordered the lower hose that O'Rielly had in stock for the '84 K30 Chevy. The hose is a Gates #21285. I believe that this would work on...
I had to replace the upper and lower radiator hoses on my M-1010. The supply stores here in Tucson only had hoses that were "close". the upper hose fit, the lower had to be modified, ie. cutting 1 1/2" off the radiator side. Does anyone have an online source where they purchase the correct...
I have just purchased a M-1010 ambulance and heard about this site as a place where I could obtain some good information relating to this vehicle. What I have seen so far is great! Hope to spend some time here.
