Cool bike, I just bought one here. i live in Pa. but I bought the bike in Co.
They steer hard, but are very rugged. Careful in right hand corners, they can tip over.
All I did was take the adjustment cover off. (Had to snip the keeper wire.)
Then I had to pull out the high speed adjustment screw.
Then I disconnected the throttle linkage from the governor lever.
Next I pulled the lever all the way back and tied it there.
That brought the allen bolt head...
I fixed it!
It was the pendulum looking thing behind the governor lever. It was a bit loose and slipped. I removed the high speed screw, tightened it up and reset the high speed screw. I then started the engine and reset the idle. It idles at 850 now. I'll take it out for a test run...
My Deuce has a big idling problem. When I first bought it, it first went from 900 to 1000 idle rpms when stopped on a hill. When I stepped on it hard accidentally, while working on the low air buzzer, it went to 1500 rpms at idle. I pulled on the throttle rod towards the radiator, and it went...
That is a great idea. I can easily do that at my shop. I have the female coupler on the inside firewall anyway.
I did check the wires. I can find nothing wrong. There must be a pressure switch some where. Can that be the problem?
I know it's annoying but I need it to work for inspection. My truck holds air pressure for about 8 hrs after shut down if I don''t release it first. I will check under the dash tomorrow. Thanks!:-D
My truck runs great, but the air pressure buzzer is now dead. It went from going off all the time, to going off some of the time, now it is dead. Air pressure is fine and builds fast. Where do I look? How do I replace it? Are parts still available for this?:-?
I used brake cleaner on a rag. All steel is wiped down then dried off. Then the new boot will stay put. Did mine in one hour. They are still in place and tight.
I was told hauling stuff to and from a show is ok with antique plates.
Driving in the dark is ok with antique plates.
I like having the extra lights on for better visibility at night.
The crash bar (ICC bar) is safer for everyone on the road and I have not bent my rear fenders back...
My inspection guy showed me the Pa regs on it for a commercial truck.
Yes, you are right, I could have had classic tag but I couldn't deal with the limitations.
I can make you a hitch/crashbar if you want.
Stop in next time you fellas are in Quakertown!
Trust me, i wish I didn't need it either. Took me two weeks to make that thing! (I did disk one of my dad's fields with it though, that was fun!)
I have a commercial truck plate, not an antique plate.
I was told by the tag guy who registered it I would not be able to haul firewood in it...
