Its either the Voltmeter Relay or the Gen2 Relay. On my truck the relays had all been taken off the mounting plate and put back in the wrong locations so I'm not sure of the physical position.
If you pull one and the Gen2 light stops working then that's the Gen2 relay. The other one would...
Part number is 615-1615 from NAPA. The first one I bought was from O'Reilly and turned out to be about a foot shorter than the original. Went to NAPA and just got one for a civvy Blazer and it worked perfectly. I thought it was fine until it got chilly the other morning and went bonkers...aua
I've noticed the same thing. I always just assumed it was a "CUCV" thing. I've had other vehicles of this vintage and don't remember that happening before.
Finally got around to replacing the ignition lock cyclinder and re-keying the doors.
I also pulled the tailgate glass and regulator to figure out what was going on with the window.
Of course since I had it all apart today it decided to rain....at least there wasn't any carpet to ruin...aua...
I have a question about the Emergency Flashers in my M1009:
Brake and Turn Signals work normally under all conditions, and the flashers work as well. However, if I press the brake while the flashers are on, all 4 "flashers" go solid until the brake is released (including the turn indicators on...
I replaced the speedo cable a while back due to wild fluctuations of the speedometer needle. What is strange is that the speedo works beautifully now when its warm outside, but still goes crazy when its cold. When its cold, it will settle down and work normally after driving for around 20...
CDR Valve has been replaced with an NOS unit I picked up.
Prior to replacing the original valve I tried cleaning it out with WD-40. I got it as clean as possible and went for a test-drive. After a few miles I pulled the breather hose off and so much oil had accumulated that it spilled out all...
It's my understanding that the stock gauge is actually a 12V gauge with a resistor added to the back to handle the 24V input. Does anyone know if you can just remove that resistor to "convert" the gauge to 12V, or am I totally :cookoo:
Running it in that condition is not going to do nice things to the transmission over time. The TH400 will last longest with positive, firm shifts (not slamming, but firm). The low rpm / slow shift will accelerate tranny wear. This is similar to excessively slipping the clutch in a manual when...
I fixed one of those already...
Turned out to be a pinhole in the return line hose. I was testing GP's and found one that was totally drenched in Diesel. It had a steady drip from that line that had leaked all over the GP, head, frame rail, etc.
Thankfully it was close enough to just cut off...
I have small (slow drip) coolant leak coming from somewhere under my radiator on the drivers side. I also have some seepage from my oil cooler lines (looks like from where the fittings are crimped onto the rubber part of the hose)
Since I will need to pull the radiator I was planning on...
I'm fairly new to Diesel, so please bear with me...
What exactly happens if the witness marks on the IP and engine are not lined up properly? I read earlier in here that it affects the "timing", but what does that translate into for engine operation?
Today while working under the hood I...
The speedometer cable is just held in with a single spring-tab. Its a little hard to explain, but you will feel a spring metal tab on the top of the cable connector. Just squeeze it down and pull the cable off the gauge. It shouldn't take too much effort to pull off if the tab is fully...
Carpet, A/C and a Center Console! Its hardly a CUCV anymore
Do you have any idea which console may have been used? I can't quite tell from the pic, but its a clean looking install!
I've been through quite a bit of the posts regarding CB installation, and just want to find a few more ideas for mounting locations.
My intent is to use the radio-plate on the dash as a mount for an external speaker and the "hook" to hang the mic on.
I've read that some people choose an...
