I notice that the 400hx gensets sellon GL at a much lower price, and some have very low hours. What does it take to rework these gensets to be 60Hz?
Some say its just the speed of the rotor...some say the windings...is there a transmission or gearset between prime mover and rotor?...most are...
Are you talking about the wisconsin engine type or the PTO type? Seems to me there was some mention thet these bodies where put on in upstate NY me thinks Rochester. Some R&D dettachment?

Hello all,
I cant seem to find a reason for it but when I make a rolling turn to the right sometimes my stomach tightens because the truck leans over much further than when I turn left. The welder is back there...does the gen/welder winding weigh more than the wiscansin engine? Do springs...
65?...when I go 55 its taching like a mad machine...max speed in the manual is 55...is 55 truly tached outor will it do more? My truck has 8900 miles want to get past the break in before i tach it out too much...no?
Dont think Florida allows drive off but not too sure. Picked up at FT Meade, had a local guy pull it off the base, then we met him north of Baltimore...worked just fine.
yep yep about the modulator on the tranny, there is a spec for vac at idle at the modulator....any one know what it is?...I jave seen in the manual about checking and adjusting this vac pump at the injection pump also.
The borrowed starter is 24v?, yes it grounds through the engine block, the large wire needs to reach the large post on the starter, so it needs to 1. reach the post, and 2. must have a ring terminal end crimped on(dont fudge this as there is alot of amps here, a mistake gets one a nickname like...
Kinda new to the 24 volt thing, but have had 4 or 5 pickups with 6.2's over the years. The worst thing about em was crankin em fast enough to start em on the coldest mornings. The 24 volts solves that. Whay are you changing it?...12 volts off the front battery for jumping other 12 volt...
Darn, this is an older post....I was gonna say, dont throw away or further beat up the wisconsin engine, hobart welder/generator. Many of us would love to have parts. Especially as close to NH as you are....but Im sure its already gone....
Be Well....
Hope you guys get it all figured out. I would just like to use the military receptacle. I think the switched blackout tail light coud be hooked up as nice low wattage "night loading"lights. Can anyone help me find the correct plug or part number for the plug and pigtail or just the plug...
i have a m1031 with the wisconsin engine setup. Does the engine get sped up with the fast idle solenoid near the throttle linkage on the injection pump?...If so the manual shows this on the schematic and a switch would be easy to install....the solid state devices in your pictures could be...
