    heater hose routing ?

When looking at the heater core. The hose closest to the firewall is the shorter of the two and goes to a 90 degree tube that goes into the cylinder head. The hose farthest from the firewall is the longer of the two and goes to the bypass on the water pump (the capped off port you refered to).

Do you know what this is for?

RE: Re: RE: Do you know what this is for? If my perspective is right that would be on the passenger side, yes? The rifle rack for the driver would be on the drivers side behind the seat. The other rifle mount goes on the dash on the passenger side of the tranny hump. The fire extinguisher...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

RE: should I change my plugs and wires and distributor Also, if you want to keep it stock 24V (my preference) AB Linn usually has complete remanufactured units ready to drop in for reasonable money.

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

RE: should I change my plugs and wires and distributor You never know what they my have done. You can convert a 24V military distributor to a 12V. You can swap out the guts but if they used a conventional 12V coil, it will be too large to fit in the distributer. So there are several holes...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

Yup, plug wires are fun. There is a special military tool but I took the same route as oilcan. Don't be suprised if there isn't a ton of crud in the tank. Pretty common for these and its tough to clean out because of a baffle. I never could get mine completely cleaned out. You may want to...

Unfortunately no, just the one thats on the truck. I'll keep an eye out for one.

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

I'm assuming its still 24volts and has the military water proof ignition. If so the spark plug wires will thread onto the spark plugs. Your coil is located inside the distributor. I'd start checking to see if you have spark first before replacing anything. Remove a plug. Attach it to the plug...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

In a stock truck, power comes right from the batts to the foot starter switch then from there to the starter. There is no key switch or switch on the dash to engage the starter. You should have a single lever switch on the dash to get power to the distributor/coil/etc. Its common for Fire...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

The website is www.m715zone.com but unfortunately its down right now. There is a temporary site up and running but does not have the vin registry. If you want to divulge the first couple digits I can compare it to mine. Also, are there any military marking left on the truck at all? If your...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

Dave summed it up well above. If you have a typical 1960-70's looking air cleaner on the carb, most likely its 1967. If you have a hood mounted canister air cleaner then most likely its a 1969. 1968 could be either way. Of course there's always exceptions to the rule as I've seen supposively...

    M-718 or M-715 What is it ?

RE: difference? Yup, definately a typo. If its an M715 then it should look like my avatar picture over on the left. Should also be a 1967-1969. Post some pictures. Be sure to check out the m715zone too but they're in the process of an overhaul.

RE: Re: RE: free rides You guys have way too much fun over there! Guys around here are mostly into making tube frame rock crawlers and seeing how far they can go up a ramp. Just can't find any good old fashion mud bogs around here any more.

    ANOTHER "look-what-followed-me-home" story . . . .

Thanks for sharing the videos. I must of watched them 1/2 a dozen time s before I noticed all my co-workers huddled up behind me in my cube. "What the hell is he gonna do with that?" I couldn't explain, they just wouldn't get it. Way cool!

For real? Wow, talk about embarrasing. Happens to the best of us. Reminds me of when I-95 was a parking lot due to a heavy snow strom. There was a slight incline that everyone was crawling up. I decided to pass the turtles by using the median. I got 3/4 of the way and hit a hard frozen pile...
