RE: Car hauler
Well I think I may try the Uhaul route. Best case scenario I get home with no issues, worst case scenario I'll have some nice photos to post of the carnage.
I've got until Nov 4th before I have to pick it up so hopefully I can get a line on a larger trailer by then.
Thanks for...
I really like the vietnam-era Semi Gloss OD Green 24087 with contrasting white lettering. I've found that Aervoe paint changes from gloss green to flat brown in a year or two. Gillespie tends to stay true longer. At least for me anyway.
RE: Re: RE: Testing, cleaning and repairing light multiswitc
Nicely written. I just recently replaced mine as I figured they couldn't be rebuilt. Good thing I saved the old one. I think I'll try repairing it and save it as a spare. Thanks.
RE: Car hauler
Good tip. There are indeed two vintages. The newer ones are galvanized and the old style are orange paint. The real big difference is the new ones let you fold the wheel wells out of the way so you can open the doors on a car or in my case buy a few more inches to get the...
Anybody ever squeeze an M715 onto a Uhaul car trailer? They rate it for 4000lbs, 133" wheel base, and max 79.25" outside tire width. Wheelbase is no problem but I'm a bit over on width and quite a bit over on weight.
I'm hoping they put in a factor of safety since its a rental.
Otherwsie...
I bought these without inspecting them. So just going off the pictures I figured the M725 would be all hacked up since it was used as a work truck for a marble and slate company. So I toyed around with turning it into a camper or just unloading it. I figured I'd restore the M715.
After...
dg,
Are you familiar with the split rims on M715's? Do they fall into the good or bad category? Because like JR I take all the safety warinings on these suckers to heart and it really stresses me out just putting the wheel on the truck nevermind putting a tire on a rim. I'm always nervous...
I just picked these up off Ebay this week. I'm going to check them out and pay for them on Sunday. Suppose to be a lot of spare parts. I'll see what's available for mufflers. Keep your fingers crossed and I'll let you know Sunday night what I find.
You've got the Drivers Ed version with a seperate brake setup on the passenger side for the instructor! Very rare find indeed : )
Sorry, no idea, but it sounded good.
Nice rig. Sorry to hear about the DMV hassles.
I just picked up a 67 M725. Planning on keeping it stock outside and convert to a camper inside. Got another 67 M715 in the deal too. Now to find room for them all.
Great! Hope to run into you guys. My M-715 is temporarily out of commission but I'll be going in my Brother In-Laws 72 M35A2C w/w on Saturday.
I'll be the really ugly looking guy with the shaved head and an M715 Zone T-Shirt on. :)
For anyone in CT or nearby this one is a must! Good show and lots of vendors. Use to be held in Portland. I'll be there!

I live in CT and my M-715 came from OK with a 1967 Jeep Gladiator title. In CT you don't need titles to register vehicles over 10 years old. Just need a bill of sale with the VIN# on it and go down and have the VIN checked. My brother-in-law just registered his Deuce, it came from Gov Liq...
