How were the pipes ran on that bobbed deuce wreckerman? Was there a split before the bed or is it one pipe going all the way up through the frame rails?
Yea the new bolts all got lock washers and will be checked very frequently from now on. It just blew my mind on how close it was to catastrophic failure, ie the tranny going falling out while cruising at highway speeds
Interesting Transmission story
My friend and I were getting our trucks ready for a show yesterday just going through and greasing fittings and other misc. checks. As he went to grease the fitting on top of the transmission he noticed something or should i say many something's out of place. The...
Sounds like a good run, i live about 5-10 minutes from adirondack dodge and should be able to take the ride up with the deuce. Looking forward to the trail tours and the rest of the activities. See everyone at Fred's!!
I should be at the mall around 1000-1030 in front of Macy's ( I think its the easiest and biggest space for turning our rigs around.) Give me a shout in the am when your close.
John, I will be leaving Saturday morning also around 0800 just to be safe and plan on being at the Carousel mall around 0930 so if you want to meet up with me there give me a shout and we will set it up.
What is everyone bringing to the show, Deuces, CUCV's 5 tons? I'm still not sure what day im heading out, anyone else got a day set in stone? Keep me posted.
Good news, good news anyone who registered before the 12am deadline Monday should receive they're packet by Wednesday. Also you can register at gate 7 starting Thursday @ 8am and also each day of the show starting also @ 8 am. Any other questions feel free to ask.
Im camping in the Deuce too and brining a grill, cooler and plenty of Jack Daniels PM me your number to setup a time and place to meet up. Does the Mall work for everyone and when are y'all planning on going, Friday or Saturday?
I registered last night and it said 1-2 weeks to receive paperwork which makes no sense, why would they let you register so late if they know it takes longer. On the shower situation im pretty sure they have full facilities in the infield. PM me if you want to discuss more details over the phone.
Not sure if registration is open at the door. i know registration closes online on Monday the 23. If anyone finds anything different let me know, anyone come up with a meeting place yet that would be convenient for everyone? Maybe Carousel Mall?
I still haven't registered yet but plan on it this week. Not sure if im going Friday or Saturday but shoot me some ideas to brain storm so we can get a camo convoy to take over and show them what a real truck is.
I just picked up a set of XML's from Kublos Surplus in PA and am in the process of breaking my stock ones down and mounting up the new rubber. Got 2 done today and ran out of daylight and its supposed to rain the whole weekend. Two of mine came with HEMTT rims so eventually I plan to get 4 more...
A good vulcanizing patch job should sufice or in a pinch use RTV ( Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone and that should last a rather long time. A couple friends have repaired a tire that had seperation of the tread from the body of the tire and it lasted 8 years.
Just finished mounting clearance lights on my deuce the other night. Came out real sweet, will take pictures and post soon.(Too **** cold out and getting new snow as we speak)
