Dont you have any tire stores on that side of the country that section tires cheap? I had a 99% tread 395 that ended up with a softball sized hole in it. They fixed it for about 40$ The tire has had the crap beat out of it for about two years and is holding up fine.
I am using 395s on m35a3 wheels and have not had any problems. I did modify some of the newer style metal beadlocks out of 5 ton wheels to use with them. (I widend them 1 1/4")
They cut a piece out of the bed toward the rear. The sides were cut at the rear and new ends fabbed to look like stock.
As for the wheel base, I am not sure. I do know the rear spring hangers were back as far as possible without hitting the rear winch.
My friends have been building bobbed trucks for the last couple of years. They do nice work, and do not advertise what they do. I thought I would post a few pictures of their latest 5 ton. It has front and rear winches, cut down dropside bed, and 16.00 spare behind the cab. It is a beast...
If the truck you are looking at is the one that was on craigs list for 2500. Take a look at the fuel line that runs across the crossmember under the radiator. It may be flattened a little restricting fuel to the pump. It is made of copper, so if it is flat you can work it round with a cressent...
I still have the 6 m35a3 wheels if you are interested. These are the right 20 x 11" mpt wheels, not the skinny Canadian wheels that Barstow truck parts trys to pass off as a3 wheels.
I am still waiting for euc to clear on my 5ton. It was in the same sale as your 109. I did notice that the gauge panels had a check mark on them. The 109 for sale this week has the panel removed.
I have a few extra nos pins or poppet shafts as they were called when I bought them. I think I paid 12$ for the pin.
I would hope the shear pin would have failled before damaging the winch. If the pin did not shear and you do not see cracks in the worm housing or pto case, you might be lucky...
The sprag type t-case has a piece of linkage between the trans and t-case. If you were to remove the floor section over the trans you could see it. If you have a lever switch mounted under the dash marked In and Out for front axle, you have an air switched t-case. It has no linkage between the...
Red river parts and equipment in New Boston TX. have good take out shafts for around 150-175. It depends on long or short side. I think hubs are around 35$, They should have any thing else you may need. 903-547-2226.
I have several extra poppet shafts and drum lock handles. Part nos NSN:5315-00-696-0789, and NSN:2540-00-740-9150 I do not have any spare springs or nuts. If you have the brake adjusted right, you are better off without the drum lock. I have several parts winches that were destroyed because...
