The blend door originally was covered with a material that sealed and insulated it. When I replaced the heater core I recovered the door with padding from fabric store as all of the material had dry rotted off. Makes a world of difference keeping cold air and hot air seperated.

I was considering a week there this June with the ATV's for my son's birthday. I did not know it was for more than ATV's. He wants to go somewhere he can take his M1009 also. This may be a possibility for early June.
You will need to add a 7 pin plug added because you will need to wire in a trailer brake controller. I too have a 30 foot travel trailer and would not think of towing it without operational brakes.
Did they leave the letter in your mailbox? IF so give it to your postmaster with a complaint for them to investigate. It is a federal offense to put anything in someone elsews mailbox.
Where in Alabama are you? I am in Prattville in central AL a few minutes from Montgomery. Have you got it painted yet?We will be replacing the hood on my son's m1009 as I have one from a parts truck that will require less prep. The hood now on the truck is plenty workable though.
The M1009 did not have a light in the transfer case shifter, but it is the same as the civilian model that did have the light. It is easy to add a light with a factory socket and 2 wires, just splice them in to the light for the volt meter as this light is run by wire and easily tapped.
It may be junk, but for the price? It is on my brother in law's land and I don't have a way to move it. He did tell me it was pretty badly damaged from the flood. It was not insured so I still have a clear title. It ran great when it was a bus, didn't work well as a submarine!
I have told...
Anyone need an 8v-71? I have a bus that has one that only had a few thousand miles on a fresh rebuild when it could not swim during the floods in Nashville. I am sure it would need to be cleaned out etc. but it should be a good base. If you have a way of removing the bus you can have it...
Actually both bateries are 12 volt. They are run in series so the power is 24 volts out of second battery (2 x 12 volts). Don't try to jump with 12 volt, just take both batteries out and completely charge each 12 volt battery seperatly on 12 volts then put them back in.
The front battery...
I live in Alabama and my 2500HD came with one from the factory. I love it even though i don't "need" it, the heater works almost immediately on those cool mornings. Amazing how much quicker warm ups are.
just wanted to give a shout out to your wife who rode in my truck saturday night. she was extremely patient while they were digging me out of the swamp.
Hey Timber,
I live in Prattville. I have a u-haul brand trailer you can use for your recovery. I can show you how to get your truck loaded with a come along as I have done this several times. I have hauled a K5 blazer on this trailer with no problem. Your suburban should handle the job with...
