    6.2 Pulse timing?

These engines are IDI and do not have injectors although everyone calls them that. They have nozzles. Injection event happens at the pump and the nozzles"pops" at a preset pressure(usually 1800-2200). It does not matter which nozzles you use as long as they match each other. Many people change...

Why are my starter bolts coming loose??

Another thing to add I think anyway is having good strong matched batteries. It can't be good for starter cranking it with weak batteries.

Why are my starter bolts coming loose??

I have owned numerous 6.x truck with both DD and Gr. Seen alot more broken bolts on the DD. There is a big difference in weight. I have a gr in my 1008. Never had an issue.

Why are my starter bolts coming loose??

Use only GM bolts. They are correct hardness. Aftermarket is unknown. Make sure rear support is on and tight. Never use ether. Install a block heater for cold weather. All these things help but getting rid of that Direct Drive and converting to a gear reduction is probably the best bet. That...

    Manual Glow Plug Install

This was a good read. My WTS light comes on for a decent amount of time but I see no voltage drop on the voltmeter in my M1009. When I hit the GP's in my M1008 I drop almost 3 volts. The PO hacked this thing up so bad and I see a NAPA solenoid so he had his dirty little paws on that too.

    73 mph M1008

I have hit 80 with my M1008..Of course I run 35's with an NV4500. No way one of these trucks is running 80 mph stock and staying in one piece. Sorry, not buying it.

    Manual Glow Plug Install

Was just reading this and decided to add because I did not see it(unless I missed it) Bosch Duratherms are also self regulating and IMHO better than the ac delcos. Last time I bought a set Rock Auto had them for 59$ for the set. I'll never use Wellmans in anything. Too many swelled ones over the...

    Injector Pump - DB2 Rebuild

If it's just the throttle shaft seals, you can change those on the truck. Just make sure you put it back together right or it will runaway.

CUCV won't turn off with key

Glad you found it. I had a civvy one that did the same thing. Drove me nuts. I had no juice at the Sol wire but if I unplugged it the truck would die. I even took the truck to church and threw Holy water on it because I was sure it was possesed. There was something wrong inside the ignition...

    m1008 w/plow over heating?

Mine will run hot unless I keep the plow angled a little and as low as I can without scraping the ground but only on the highway and my plow is a behemouth.

    So it begins...My M1009...

Yeah Probably leave it with the TH400 for now. Lift kit and paint will be first items on plate.

My 4l80E install in my 1009, current progress

Reading this made me glad I did an NV4500 however as was posted using a 93 obd1 setup would have probably been easier and cheaper. Google Bobby Martin db2 conversion

    Leaking Head Gasket

Too bad your not closer. Perhaps take Westech up. Rock hard upper is generally a sign. Hgs are no big deal . I can do them in about 4-6 hrs depending on how it comes apart and how much beer is in the fridge.

    Leaking Head Gasket

I have done many many headgasket jobs on GM 6.xx engines. I don't think I have ever seen a Headgasket leak externally on a 6.2. You get either compression in the coolant or start burning antifreeze. You could have a cracked head or block but that is generally a 6.5 issue. 6.2's used crappy...

    So it begins...My M1009...

It was also losing power bigtime on the highway when I tried to pass. I changed the fuel filter tonight and seems better. I will perform an autopsy on the old FF tomorrow.
