Well, the answer for me was to use a 56” belt, that worked great. I don’t think all of them are the same for some reason though. That put both the power steering pump and the alternator in the center of their adjustments.
From your first picture, you can see what I am talking about. You have no adjustment left on the driver side alternator, its all the way to the right. If it stretches, (assuming its brand new) there is nothing you can do unless you can get a little more out of the ps pump adjustment.
Well, maybe its just me, but the 57” and the 58” recommended in the Wiki were way too long for me. The 57” went on with the alt and PS all the way out. A 56” went on with both adjusting to the center.
You just made me spray coffee all over my monitor....
SouthernSteel, It really is easy to tear into and repair/rebuild both alternators and starters. There are very few things that go wrong with them that cant be fixed by a guy with a multimeter and a ¼" drive socket set.
Find an old...
So my next question is, how many of us are looking for a copy of Davids book, and how many of us 109 owners are looking in the classifieds for a set of bows/cover?
OK, have spoken to David, and technically, we should probably remove the photo from the book from the thread.
As he explained to me, he sold the rights to the book, and therefore is not able to give permission to post anything from it here.
However, he does have the rights to the contents of...
WOW… all I can say is wow….
That is great. I had resigned myself to watching this thread float silently to the bottom and die.
That is a perfect detailed description. Yup the bolts are there.
Would these be the regular m35 bow corner brackets? And a regular m35 cover?
What do you think the...
No... Sorry
I was just being a smart a$$…
I know the thinking, after being here just a few months, I look at the huge influx of new people asking/saying stupid things, and while I try to “teach a man to fish” it does get tiresome.
But I have to say, I am on several forums, on a variety of...
Dumb new guy full of crap response:
360 is a small block, but it SHOULD bolt right up, I will defer and suggest clinto as one of the supreme experts in this area.
Eric, before I ever joined SS, I swore YOU would never get me on a search thing. But admittedly, I never found that one, therefore, I now deserve to swear off of MV collecting completely and take up potato farming as my sole entertainment.
Seriously, after reading, the other questions still...
Getting ready to prep for paint and I find myself perplexed by what is on the 109. I have researched and I cannot come up with what this stuff is for.
1. Tie downs. What the heck would be the purpose of tie downs on a 109? I have heard that they exist so that a cover could be thrown over to...
I think you are going about it the wrong way.
Scrap the 318 with its nylon timing gears, and drop in a 383 or 440 or even a 400. No adaptation necessary.
Just sold my last 318 last week.
They will all bolt right up to the 727.
Much more reliable than the small blocks, and there is a huge...
