Ok, got a bunch more small stuff done today. Had some indoor/outdoor carpet remnants so I trimmed it out and tossed it in. Nice on a cool morning. Been wanting a flag for the truck while camping, so I used the existing bumper mount and made a collapsible pole so I could store it in the...
That is why I did it, center of steering wheel button may as well be on the rear bumper as far as accessibility goes in an emergency. I liked the old '60's GM cars that had a squeezable insert in the wheel rim that was the horn button. That way as you were white knuckling it during a pending...
Got a bunch of little stuff done today ahead of next week's Rally. Only thing worth taking pictures was the final securing of the stock horn and plumbing the aux. horn. Also installed a horn button on the shifter for the aux. horn, so when I am busy slamming on the brakes and downshifting to...
Spent a few minutes this afternoon doing the final wiring to the switch for the route clearance lights. Didn't get the indicator lamp wired yet though.
Installed a few of my radio's for listening pleasure just in case I get cabin fever. Three scanners, two 2 meter and a CB. All temporary, as I plan a full radio shack including ham once the truck is done.
Got a good bit done today. Secured the solar panels to the frame and wired them to the controller. Also have a center antenna mounting point and a walk plate in the middle. Now getting free power! This system gives me 1000 watts in full sun for charging and operation during the daytime...
They are pretty tough, but do have a foam isolator under the panel frame on the aluminum frame. The box doesn't really flex, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Rain, rain, rain. Ugg. Didn't get much done today, but did with the help of a friend, get my solar panels on the roof. Nothing secured or wired, but at least they are up there. Even fit my frame that I made. Wonder of all wonders. Bolt them down and wire them in tomorrow, if the weather...
Got home a bit early today, so was able to get the fresh water tank plumbed, filled and leak checked. No leaks, so wired in the demand pump and tested. Works as intended. At least something went well. Ugg. On to the solar panel install tomorrow.
Got a sweet package delivered this afternoon. My new master cylinder and associated parts came from Peashooter. It has the revised m-cyl. with the built in differential switch. Also has the remote plate on it. He included the fittings for the lines to the reservoir and the steel lines to the...
Pretty much have the solar panel frame done, finished the center cross beams and trimmed the anchor bolts. Made some flanges so I can install and remove the panels without having center bolts/screws. Will be able to take a few screws out of each side and the end, and lift each panel...
Did a bit to the 109 today. Squared away some interior stuff, then set out to get the solar panel framework in place. Used surplus 1 3/4 angle aluminum and stainless steel bolts to lay it out. Still need some center reinforcements and 3 antenna mounting points.
