Ok PO said the shutoff was stuck. Upon moving it back and forth he said the "sleeve cracked ??"
Nothing fell in the IP. He said he put it back together but it was racing when he started it and I should fix it before startin it . What is he talking about ? It is under the cover where the fuel...
Got my first Deuce...I love it. It is pretty clean. Little bit of rust here and there but the cab is spotless. It does not run. PO could not get it to start. He messed with teh fuel shut off. He said it was stuck bad. He got it to move but thinks he broke it. He said the truck started and ran...
I may have to flat tow a non running Deuce. I am on my phone so searching is very hard. Do I need to put the transfer case in neutral and how do I do that if it's not running ? I has airshift. It needs to be towed about 100 miles. I forgot to look on here last night.
Thanks
I understand that but how much pressure is coming out of that plug ? Forgive me as I am unfamiliar with the Multifuel but I know on average the pop pressure on a nozzle is usually 2000+ PSI but that is under closed line. If you take the line of the nozzle there is very little coming out of the...
You may want to look into using an Aluminum one from a GMT 400 6.5. They are alot cheaper and They cool better. You would need one with the oil cooler or go with a lube specialist remote oil cooler kit form a 6.5.
That's what I'm gonna do when mine pukes again.
I am confused on this...So the plug on the top that gets removed and checked with a wood stick is also where you use the brass punch to try and free it if it does not move??
I have to look at A Duece that has no fuel to Injs.
Thanks. I'm gonna weigh the price of having it towed vs using my Dump truck. It I tow it it will be back roads and slow.
Actually if I register it I can call triple A...lol I have the gold plan which includes RV's
Wanted to bump this rather than start a new one. I didn't see anything in this thread with regards to pulling the driveshaft.
Can you just put the T case in neutral ? Or do either the driveshaft or axles need to be pulled. Also do you guys think a 1973 Ford F600 could flat tow a non running...
OK, Bump. I read every page in his thread. I am thinking about bidding on a 5 ton that is roughly 6 hrs from me with hopes of driving it home. I don't know alot about them but I am a diesel and heavy truck mechanic so not too much I have not een. I would be less willing to take a chance if it...
Put a clear piece of tubing on the return line and look for air bubbles before you condem the IP. If no air your Pump is probably dead. I would also test LP pressure . If the LP pressure is weak it will run really bad. It needs about 5-7 psi.Lower than 4 can make it lose power. I just went...

Have someone that knows WTF they are doing look at it. You blow that diff and your wheel, axle and all will pass you. Not fun..trust me. That is why I scrap the 1/2 diffs and swap in 8 lug full floaters. I'll ne ver own a c clip diff ever again. Junk.
Worst case scenario, keep a hairdryer handy and stick it in the intake for a few minutes. NEVER use starting fluid on a 6.2.
Freeze plug one is the way to go but a PIA to do. messy and hard to get the old plug out. Once you get the old one out the rest is easy.
If your flexplate is shot let me know. I "may" have one. I have to look. I can't remember if I sold it with the tranny. I have worked on many many 6.2/6.5 diesels and never seen one shimmed. The proper way to install a Delco style starter is to use Dekim bule and do a contact pattern but I don't...
