What did that cost ? I thought civilians could not deal with them for CARC. I would love have real CARC.
My truck was clean and prepped properly. I even used 220 this time to give it more bite. It was wiped down with wax and grease remover and tac clothed.
I always drain the compressor prior to...
Well to update, Milspray replied to my email about the situation. They said they will send me a full refund for the paint. Over 500$.
If they carry through with that then I will have more respect for them. They no longer sell this paint.
Time will tell.
I'm gonna call Small Claims and see if I can sue them.I spent over 400$ on it.
How did you get it off ? I am thinking of just using the powerwasher. That seems to take it right off. Then I'll hit it with 2k and a new finish.
I did this separate from my thread about repainting so it shows up better in searches and no one has to go through what I did. This company and their paint is pure excrement. This started in Fall 2011. I prepped my CUCV and refinished the truck with Milspray restoration paint. I won't go into...
Has anybody ever tried just going to a paint supply store that mixes automotive paint and have them just shoot the color with a spectroscope ? I am not sure if the scope can decompile a flat color.
Ok. The Milspray CARC substitute I used it peeling off in sheets . Also it seems to have caused rust. I know Milspray no longer sells it..Honestly I can strip my truck with a power washer it's that bad. What did you use for primer under the Rapco ?
I went to Rapco's site but saw nothing as far...
Any suggestions on paint and where to buy ? I painted it 2 years ago with Milspray and the stuff is garbage. It is peeling off in sheets and the truck was primed and prepped properly. I don't want waterbourne paint. I would prefer Real CARC paint.
Suggestions ?
Yeah but the rotors and 8 lug wheel studs are MUCH stronger. The base axle is exactly the same. You can actually use the rotors and backing plates off an 8 lug. IIRC the spindles and bearings were the same. ( 8 ) 9/16 stud vs (6)7/16.
Not to mention the GM14 bolt is practically indestructible...
Did you use the short injs to clear the exhaust manifold ?I was able to get the pass side manifold on without jacking the the motor but it was not fun.
This will be my first year going. I'm taking my motorhome. It will be the oldest one there and my Buddy who's a Marine is following me in the M1008. I am looking forward to it.
The website is kinda vague on stuff.
Camp fires allowed at all ?
If you still have access to that donor truck I highly recommend harvesting the serp belt setup. It all bolts right on. The 95 setup works particularly well.
Well said. Toss that 6 lug junk and upgrade. It's no fun watching your wheel AND axle shaft pass you on the highway and the 6 lug wheel studs are not nearly strong enough for anything but stock.
The 1 ton stuff goes for a few bucks but you can buy a late 70s early 80's whole rustbucket truck for...
