Excellent write up!
I have a non functional heater as well. How hard was the heater to remove? I think my heater is in the way of me reaching that pesky leaky oil line which goes from the side of the block to the bottom of the injector pump.
This is exactly how I feel. But...
My biggest problem with the whole process is the SF97/titling part, and trying to get a temp tag without title. According to GL, you can't fill out the SF97 before picking up the truck, then predictably, you get a real winner at the DMV that won't accept a...

Thanks again CARNAC.
Guess mine is just wierd then. Leaks plenty of oil, lots of blowby out of the draft tube, but runs very STRONG for a truck of this size. Mine really wants to go faster than 60 (55 indicated) even uphill, but I don't let it. Perhaps it has been turned up already?
Did you have a Homer Simpson moment? Mine was leaving the e-brake on for about a quarter mile after a rest stop. Hey, whats that funny smell? DOH!
Hey Roscoe, here is a tip. Once everything checks out o.k. and you get rolling for a while, relax and enjoy the ride! My needless...
The Wal-Mart stuff is ok. I think that the 80w90 stuff even says on the bottle that it protects against copper n bronze (yellow metal) corrosion. I use NAPA 90w GL-1 FWIW.
According to GL, its was a problem with credit cards today, so as a result they extended all auctions to give everyone a chance to bid. I'm not making this up. rofl
:ditto: Frankieboy hit the nail square on the head. I'm new to this hobby and I bought my A2 to keep till I die, but I suspect there are more who don't do this. I spoke with someone who pulled up with an A2 whistler at my local gas station. We talked about the A3s coming up and he mentioned...
I would never put acetone in the fuel tank of anything! Many many years ago, I switched to a different type of arrow rest on my compound bow, so I needed to turn the plastic nocks of my arrows 90 degrees. These nocks were clear plastic glued onto the aluminum. I used pliers to break the nocks...
I agree with jim1009, in that you cant go wrong with the SAE30 stuff which happens to be an older spec. I just can't stand the new CJ4 15w40 spec for the 2007+ emission diesels. That stuff seems too watered down as far as anti wear additives. Does it really matter? Probably not in the usage...

Thank you for this service CARNAC.
All of the CJ-4 oils are listed as backward compatible to CI-4+ on the API label. It means that pre 2007 diesels may run on this new standard. Check that bottle of Shell Rotella T with Triple Protection. Check Shell Corp website. Unless it is old, it will say CJ-4 on the API label. Again...
